Problem With Spore

i keep getting this error when i try to run it:

Could not find a needed package.
The data directory is missing or corrupt. [1004]
Can anyone help?

Was this after trying to patch it, or after the normal installation?

Try playing a different game. That will fix and all problems with Spore (yeah, no idea what's wrong with it).
