Problem getting online to work

So i went to the official website and downloaded the latest version.... 0.13 / 1.4. and when i go to FILE > NETPLAY... thats the problem, there is no netplay? I'm following this guide

and i got my emulator from

Game loads up fine, but there isn't a "netplay" option when i go to file. am i missing something here?!? thought i had the latest version? I'm pretty new to this online play as you can tell.

Also what controllers is everybody using? I'm thinking about using the good ole N64 controller (with an adapter so it can connect to the PC). i heard some people are using xbox controllers. Much help would be appreciated! thanks

You're probably opening Project 64, and not Project 64k.

PJ64k is the one that allows NetPlay, PJ64 doesn't even have that option.

Most people use either Xbox controllers, PS1/2 controllers, N64 controllers or the keyboard.

Go with the n64 controller .

Also .13 is the one with Netplay

Every time I try to open net play, it gives me the following result: "Error requesting server list".

I think the server might be down. I tried to get to net play on many computers with different internet connections, and none work...
