I created a new account because I wanted people to call me Patrick and not PRiDE in NJ this time around.
Yo Pride howz it going? Long time, man.[/quote]

Going well.. Just hanging out, keeping up with the scene through streams.. Haven't played in forever.. I miss it.

For those who call this post arrogant... its not.. I was only truly ever considered decent in 2009. After that my devotion for my low tier character only carried me so far. :/ These are just things I noticed and mistakes I see people make, including myself.

She was always considered high tier, she just didn't have a top player using her until Armada came along.

That's a bit of a weird conclusion. You can't even be listed in such a way before someone even places high like that. There is a reason there is only one top Peach, right? What Peach reminds me of is Pikachu and Mewtwo. Good because of dedication, just higher calibur and she is naturally higher placed than them both.

Fox loses to Falco and arguably Marth (assuredly in PAL), it's not like top tiers are exempt from "bad" matchups.Peach is basically even with fox, I'd think we could deduce that from the fact that Armada and Mango keep winning tournament sets against each other. Yes she has a tough jigglypuff matchup, but that's pretty much her only flaw. She has the tools/abilities and results to support her being top 3 or even the best character in the game, though that's more controversial.

I'd say Fox has no bad match ups. Being God tier would mean your worst match up should be 50-50. It just so happens one of the best players in the world uses Fox. That being said, how can we deduce that Falco, Marth, etc. beats Fox? Hell, I can just say Falcon beats Fox because Hax is pree guud. I still would stand firm that Fox beats Peach pretty bad as well as Falco and maybe not so much M2K's Marth. We saw what happened to Taj at Genesis 2. PewPewU got kinda wrecked back ay KoC as well. The only time I remembered Fox getting bodied by Marth was back Ken and M2K's reign of terror.

5-1's them sure, after getting sent into loser's bracket by that person. They're still a top tier/close to top tier character.

I think I firmly believe that Mango goes to losers on purpuse after years of speculating and after watching the interview video of Mango after EVO. Nevertheless, Wobbles still sent him there. This brings me to the fact that.. well as of now.. Falcon loses to IC's. But Mango proved that they are easy mode both to Wobbles and Fly Amanita more than usually "STYLIN' ON EM." It shouldn't be an argument that IC's are high tier. It's so easy to kill Nana and IC's best option, or at least the reason why you think he's high tier, Wobbling, is now gone.

Melee is better balanced than Brawl, at least among the top 10, so you're more likely to see results from slightly lower than top tier characters.

Eh? Just because I just joined Smashboards doesn't mean I don't know about Smash. I've been a spectator of this community ever since Melee Bowsers avatar was on the front page.

Pride, you're that brawl player who mained the pink yoshi right? Will you be returning for Smash 4?

When Brawl came out, all my local friends were quite sure Ike was the best and would be banned. Hell, there are still people I occasionally talk to who think Ike is tournament banned.
As another piece of advice, I'm just going to say, if you're looking for a character solely for winning, don't pick the ones you beat your friends with. That is, don't go to a tournament expecting to pwn with an "Ike" character.

Horrible post format that I can't reply to
Please respond to stuff outside of quotes next time >.>

Point is that if you want to win, you pick the character (or characters) that gives you the highest chance of winning.
I mean it's not necessarily the agreed "best", since different playstyles fit different people. But picking a mid/low tier and expecting to win isn't intelligent.

And Fox, Peach and Ice climbers are all among the very best characters in Melee.

I don't know how to counter this argument.
Thanks for ignoring my post then. Bye. Obviously you don't want to listen.

This proving it:

And Fox, Peach and Ice climbers are all among the very best characters in Melee.
I thought we could have an intelligent, nonaggressive, and civil argument. Guess not.
