Price of Melee

Will the price of Melee go up or down after the release of SSB4 for wii u? just curious cuz' it's like 45-65 dollars used on ebay.

Yeah I'm trying to get my hands on a copy but it's just so expensive now if you want it new.

It'll probably go up because more people will realize that Melee exists.

Melee was valuable not because of the Smash franchise (though Brawl was). Melee was valuable because it's melee, basically independent of other smash games.

Also, as time goes on, more copies of Melee will be lost or scratched, so less will exist. So both sides of the supply-demand idea will be in favor of Melee costing more. It's like FE: Path of Radience; when Awakening came out, everyone wanted a copy and so few were printed in America that the price went up $40.

Price will increase if newcomers to smash in general hear about Melee.

I don't see the price DECREASING any time soon. It only dipped when Brawl was out and everyone flocked to it, but then afterwards the price went right back up.

Yea, the price is not going to really be getting any lower soon. I think a decent option in place of a copy if you have a wii is to usb load it if you mod your wii, but that takes more work. As for a copy, all I can say is to keep browsing for a good deal.

USB loading is the future.

It's only going to go up as copies get scarcer, especially if demand increases.

I hope Nintendo eventually re-releases it. I have multiple Wii's and I use USB loading if I need to run multiple copies, though I own a physical disc.
