pre ordering

yesterday i pre ordered the Wii u version of super smash bros i had already pre ordered the 3ds version back in may so my question is are you going to pre order super smash bros and do you think super smash bros 4 will come with a a pre ordering bonus that some games do i think it will come with one and i think it will either be an amiibo or those gold coins that they handed out at smash fest

I preordered the 3DS game at Smash Fest, simply for the gold coin, unfortunately the coins were all "defective" and they couldn't give them to us. I don't even own a 3DS yet, I was gonna preorder both but I didn't wanna be selfish and take two coins. Apparently the coin is the same for both versions.

I wonder how much one of those coins would make on ebay.

I've never preordered a game before, I hope they don't mess up the release date.

I haven't pre-ordered a game in years. I think the last game I may have pre-ordered was Super Smash Bros. Brawl. lol. Ever since then I have had very little trouble getting games. I work at a grocery store overnights, and one of my break is right at midnight, so it's pretty easy to get games. lol

So, really, I see no reason to pre-order anymore. I don't really care about bonuses unless they are something like the Ocarina of Time/Master Quest pre-order bonus for Wind Waker, or a soundtrack.

The GCN controller and adapter bundle would be really neat, but I'm not going to order the game online, I want it immediately after it comes out. Hopefully I can buy the adapter/controller separately?

Anyway, I definitely plan on buying both games, day one. lol

I had actually pre-ordered both before smash fest at gamestop and then proceeded to preorder the 3ds version a second time at best buy just to get that coin. Haha

Thankfully I was able to just move the money i put on the gamestop 3ds version over to the gc adapter bundle for the wii u version. I actually really love what they're doing with these bonuses. I can't stand when games offer up content for preorder incentive, but physical goodies? Hell yea I'm in!

That is EXACTLY what I said.
They aren't supposed to do anything.

They shoulda just said that they were scratched or didn't have enough or whatever. Maybe the logo was printed backwards who knows? Alot of people on these boards went to Smash Fest and asked the nintendo reps and received varied responses.

I go to Walmart or Meijer (a Midwest only store) at midnight and ask for the game I'm getting, no lines ever, beats pre-ordering any day. The only time I ever saw other people there was for X and Y, and that was like 3 other people.

You might want to ask a local game stop even if they aren't advertising it yet.

The bundle at mine was the wii u version + the adapter + a gc controller for $100.

Which is why, as much as I dislike them, I use Gamestop for my games and such. Just more reliable since games are all they do

I dislike gamestop because I know people who have worked there, and they all say its one of the worst companies to work for, they waste a ton of gaming merchandise by just throwing it away, and breaking it before hand a lot of times, and the super low amount of money they give back for used games

I highly doubt it will come with anything extra. Bonuses are usually given out to entice people to preorder, but this game is going to sell great regardless so there's less incentive on Nintendo's part to include a gift.

I have not pre ordered either of them yet. I'm waiting to hear if they announce a special edition Smash 3DSXL, if they don't announce one then I will not pre order the 3DS version.

I plan on buying Eshop cards, and saving up money to pick it up in digital download form for the Wii U. As for the 3DS, I miiiight preorder a physical copy, might not.

I just don't like to reserve the games until there's a definitive date, but I tend to reserve games just to not need to worry about having issues getting it at launch (other than Fire Emblem Awakening which Nintendo royally screwed up on for distribution).

Worst of all was having to wait for the bundle >.> No option to just cancel the preorder and buy in-store, since I was depending on the 3DS coming as well. Hopefully they'll better anticipate demand this time.
