Polygons on very hard, speedster possible?

Since you would have to kill one per second and allocate for death time, spawn time, and moving your character to get to them, does anyone think its possible to get speedster? The best I could find was a TAS of Yoshi that was off by 3 seconds, and a TAS of Fox that was off by 4. I realize that's quite a bit of time in TAS standards, but I don't know if it's out of the realm of possibility, especially if you pull an item that can help you.

I apologize if you've gotten this question before, but it's plaguing my mind.

It is theoretically possible...perfect shines/DK Up-B/whatever OHKO, having a Red Shell on the top platform combined with luck manipulation of two Onixes, one after the other...you'd have to go a fair way, and the bonus isn't really worth it.

with luck manipulation of items, it could be possible... (e.g several crates full of bomb-ombs that you just throw upwards, killing the cpu's as fast as possible).

From what I can guess, kills off the top would take way too long before the next guy respawns, so all (or almost all) kills would have to be off to the side.

I think you would need luck manipulation, getting (if possible) all the spawns starting from the same location (e.g. above the left platform), so that you can get quick triple kills.

I've gotten 52 seconds with DK- that's not hard. But I don't think it could be done with him without item manipulation, and I really don't see how that would help- correct me if I'm wrong, but onixes->star ko's-> not fast enough. hammer doesn't work, nor does throwing stuff; no pokemon will kill enough of them to make it worth the while imo. Red shell works, though. Antdgar does it in just enough time on very easy with fox, and it seems to me that if you're playing with TAS skill, it doesn't matter if it's hard or easy because you'll kill them so fast they won't have a chance to attack, so I'd say fox shine could do it with red shell on top platform.
