Xenoblade Chronicles and Kid Icarus Uprising probably have my two favorite video game soundtracks of all time, so I'm tempted to lean toward them, but I didn't really find the remixes for either to be all that inspiring. The original stuff is spectacular, so I'm happy new people will get to experience it, but I've been listening to it for years so I didn't get quite the wow factor of some other music in the game. I also love the Brawl FE remixes and original music, but none of the new remixes really did it for me. The original songs they added were also weird (Duty Ablaze over Destiny Ablaze? Time of Action over Bearer of Hope and/or Beauty is a Mad Mistress?). They didn't even swap out the PoR music for the RD versions with more realistic orchestral sound.

So I have to give best music in SSB4 to Pokemon. Most of the Pokemon songs are specially-made SSB remixes (only 3/22 songs are original, I think), and the vast majority are really good tunes. The Pokemon remixes are also almost all different songs, unlike series like DK or Zelda that have a lot of remixes of the same one or two songs (I really like the new Zelda and DK music, but it's not as exciting when a lot of songs are repeats). Just in terms of new Pokemon remixes we got the amazing N's Castle, Trainer Battle, and Route 10 remixes, as well as the great Team Flare and Cynthia Battle remixes. Plus we got the X/Y Champion theme, as well as all the great Brawl remixes (minus the DPP battle remix getting replaced by a worse remix, imo). I honestly can't decide on which songs to play on the Pokemon stages.

All that being said, the fact that it is so hard to pick which series has the best music speaks volumes to the quality of this OST.

I can't pick Fire Emblem because I'm bitter about a handful of songs from Awakening that didn't make it in their. Id (purpose) was a great choice, and Duty (Ablaze) is solid too, but how on Earth they failed to put in Divine Decree (Ablaze) or Chaos (Ablaze) is beyond me. I'm clearly biased but I think Divine Decree (Ablaze)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgT0BTN2aOI is one of the better action songs I've ever heard period. Sounds extremely epic.
The lack of Divine Decree (Ablaze) is pretty much my only major soundtrack complaint, and the reason I didn't pick Fire Emblem here.

I went with Punch-Out!! because of the Jogging/Countdown remix being my favorite song. :p
