*Poll* Which Series has the Best Music in Smash 4?

Now that we've gotten a chance to hear most (some upcoming DLC excluding) tracks from Smash 4 in game, I was curious as to what the people of Smashboards think is the best represented series in terms of music? For example you can have one favorite song overall in the Mega Man series but think the Zelda series has a range of better tracks so your vote could go to the Zelda series. But if that one Mega Man song is so epic that its a cut above the rest then you can put your vote there. This is all opinions and a matter of taste, so feel free to vote where you want.

Also this includes all the returning tracks from previous games since there are a lot of them. Smash is unique in terms of music because most fighters usually have one track per stage whereas Smash 4 has upwards to 10 tracks in a single level.

As someone who loves video game music, I think all series (minus maybe Sonic and DK) are fairly represented but my vote would have to go to Animal Crossing since it has so many unique tracks that aren't just medleys. I have favorites in almost every series thats represented in this game, but there isn't a single song in Animal Crossing I would turn down.

I'm a big fan of pretty much any Fire Emblem OST. I feel like there are a lot of great original tracks included from various games, so my vote goes there.

I would normally vote for Kirby, but thanks to Sakurai's bias and his 1000 Green Greens remixes and lack of music from the new games, I vote for Kid Icarus.

I'm pretty biased for Metroid. I just wish there were more new songs from the series. I'm also a sucker for F-Zero and Earthbound's music.

Live and Learn, Open Your heart, Reach for the Stars, ESCAPE FROM THIS CITY, WONDER WORLD, and so many more songs. It's the main reason Windy Hill Zone is my most favorite omega stage.

I would've loved to vote Donkey Kong if it weren't for nearly every song being a variant of DK Island Swing. I'm not big on the Kirby series but I've noticed that the remixes for that series has to be the most experimental and energetic. I mean just check out Gilvasunner's Youtube channel under his top viewed videos and see how many songs are from Halberd alone. Also GCO has great music too but if only they were on a better stage. Also RIP Fountain of Dreams.

Mega Man, those Cut Man and Wily 1 remixes. Pac-Man as well, I'm absolutely in love with the Pac-Man's Park remix. I would say Sonic, but he wasn't given any new remixes for some reason.

I have to go with the Pokemon series. I think they made the perfect choice list of songs to remix or take from the series, as well as bring back phenomenal remixes from Brawl. List of favorites include:

They're all too good...Seriously, Nintendo's franchises have the greatest music. The music from these games is so underrated!! and the nostalgia factor only adds to it. I can't decide, it's all too good.

The Mario universe remixes in this game are fantastic. Let me tell you some of my favorites. My favorites are in order.

- Chill Version 2
(Without a doubt beats Brawls arrangement. Dr. Mario be grooving now! If you want eargasm, then this is the song to do it)

-Fortress Boss (Super Mario World)
(If your a flamenco type, then this is for you!)

-Super Mario Bros. 3 Medley
(Very nastolgic, beautiful remix, to die for)

-Ground Theme/Underground Theme
(That guitar solo at the end is superb)

-Luigi's Mansion Series Medley
(Having played both games, I approve of this medley. Sounds great too)

-Super Mario Bros. Medley
(A great medley of one of Mario's original games. A tribute to how Mario got to where he is today.)


These are all of my favorite Mario tracks. Pokemon and Kirby have some great themes too, but still think Mario deserves the cake this time! Just be sure to check that there are no Koopas in the cake though...

I definitely have to go with Animal Crossing. While Mario had more songs, a lot of them were similar to previous remixes, and I'd say the Tour remix is probably one of my favorite pieces in the game.

For me its the Zelda series.

I am a huge game music, so so many of the franchises are great, though there are a couple of duds in there. But Zelda tops it for me, its one of my favorite game music sets out there.

I pick the Mario series mainly because of the Galaxy music pieces. I mean really, Gusty Garden Galaxy and the Rosalina in the Observatory remix are complete masterpieces. The Fire Emblem series are at a close second.

I chose Fire Emblem, not because I am a massive fan of the series, but because I really like the 'Fire Emblem Melee Theme', and 'ID (Purpose)'.

Runner up for me is Xenoblade Chronicles, only because of 'You Will Know Our Names'.
Animal Crossing is a close third.

Yeah there'll be Xenoblade spoilers. But nothing that hasn't been spoiled by all the Xenoblade trophies.

As much as I hate the Engage the Enemy remix portion of the Xenoblade medley it'd be nice if there were some actual remixes. Gaur Plains remix should have been it's own thing as I don't find the original (or Night version especially) to be suitable to fighting with a Giant Mech interfering every now and then.

I'd have much liked a remix of some of the old 16-bit songs from Sonic. Just Angel Island (and arguably the Generations version of Rooftop Run) isn't good enough. Green Hill? Chemical Plant? Sky Sanctuary? Death Egg Robot? I'd have gladly taken their Generations versions over Seven Rings in Hand, cut up Live and Learn and Windy Hill.

I would have liked that too, but what is here is great. Angel Island, Escape From the City, Green Hill Zone, Knight of the Wind, Live & Learn (should have been the full version, but oh well), Open Your Heart, Reach for the Stars, Right There, Ride On, Rooftop Run, Sonic Heroes, Windy Hill, Wonder World... so good. The only ones I don't really like are the His World mix and "MAKE BELIEFS REBORN!", but the rest more than makes up for it.

I don't know how the votes for Kid Icarus are so low. It clearly got the best musical treatment, with only Mario right behind or even in front of it.

I'd say Mario due to all it's great remixes, too bad that Zero Two didn't get rearranged (Gah that Brawl remix still kills my ears everytime) and there are pretty much no songs from Kirby post superstar in this (Seriously, no C-R-O-W-N-E-D?!).

Whatever the case, the SSB series original music is never complete without the melee Battlefield theme, which is missing from this game.
I vote Mario cuz they actually captured the best of all the time periods, with new remixes of the old games, and taking the best songs from the newer ones (The inclusions of the final Bowser theme from Galaxy 2, and gusty garden and good egg from the original, makes up for the countless omissions from the Galaxy games they could've had and the mediocre remix of the Egg Planet Theme)
Aside from that, Zelda, Pokémon, Megaman, and Xenoblade seem to have gotten the better remixes.

I can't pick Fire Emblem because I'm bitter about a handful of songs from Awakening that didn't make it in their. Id (purpose) was a great choice, and Duty (Ablaze) is solid too, but how on Earth they failed to put in Divine Decree (Ablaze) or Chaos (Ablaze) is beyond me. I'm clearly biased but I think Divine Decree (Ablaze)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgT0BTN2aOI is one of the better action songs I've ever heard period. Sounds extremely epic.

Xenoblade Chronicals has a great track selection in Smash, especially because most of the songs feel like legitimate battle themes. Not that the other themes don't feel like good battle themes, these just really stand out to me. A few of my favorite are Engage the Enemy, An Obstacle in our path, and Unfinished Battle. Overall Xenoblade has a great OST so I expected no less for the track selection representing Xenoblade.

The big franchises really do have some GREAT music (like Galaxy music!) but I had to vote for Xenoblade.

I am both slightly surprised but also very happy that Xenoblade is in 1st place (since that means that lots of people have heard the good news and experienced it! :D)
