I think we have a winner. I'd say of everyone I've played, Pokemon Trainer seems like the Lucas counter character of all time.

The way Squirtle moves makes him very difficult to catch for grabs, PK Fire does very little damage, and because of the way he moves makes comboing difficult.

Ivysaur has a projectile that shoots further than PK Fire, and because of his "vines" he has a lot better reach than Lucas unless you spam the PK Thunder, which leaves you open to smashes.

Charizard actually wasn't as hard as the other 2, however, his gliding and strength make up for that. Against little Lucas Charizard is a beast and can get extremely low % KO's.

Feedback? How to play against PT? Concur? Disagree?

There's someone I've been playing with for a while and he started pulling out PT sometimes and totally ***** me. I just started changing strategies and realized staying on the ground is the best counter. Whenever I was in the air I'd just get *****. So now those matches are a really good way to work on my infighting! Ivy's spike thing is such a pain to get caught in. A lot of shorthopping and combos does the trick. Nair to utilts along with wavebouncing works quite well to counter.

But yeah, I do hate playing against PT. He's quite a powerful character.

It seems like many characters have a hard time with Squritle, so I'm not surprised. But... Ivy and Char shouldn't be that bad. Lucas faster than Ivy, and dominates him in the air. Try and see if you can absorb Bullet Seed or Razor leaf. If you can, use that to your advantage. Charizard can also be an issue, but try to stay away from him. His Rock Smash comes out slow, so you should be able to dodge in time. PKF and PKT2 would probably great attacks to rack up damage with.

IDK, I dont have a Wii in my dorm, but I mainly played PT and Lucas when I got the game back home.

While I hate playing against Squirtle myself, playing against Charizard is a joke and Ivysaur isn't too much trouble.

Edit: Actually, now that i think of it, if you can chase an Ivysaur off the edge with PK Thunder 1 than Ivy's lack of a good recovery will kill it instead. So yeah, Squirtle is just a pain.

pkt is super effective against PT. Squirtle's a water type, Charizard is flying, and Ivysaur just kinda dies...

ivysaur is easy to edgeguard, pk thunder is pretty much a certain kill every time. his razor leaf goes pretty much straight, so it should be easy to dodge

Ivysaur is the easiest for me. Squirtle seems easier than Charizard for me...Wavebouncing works well on Charizard, though. I've never had too much trouble with PT...but I can see how a good PT could be really strong against Lucas.
