Pokemon stadium melee version returning?

Today's update showed pokemon stadium 2. Slightly different then pokemon stadium 1 since 2 has a flat stage and more stage effects. But who here thinks pokemon stadium from melee would be returning? Seriously why would he name it 2 if we wouldnt have the first one returning? Maybe it will be part of the classic stages? Idk though because bringing back such a similar stage to a new one would kinda be weird to...

Your oppinions?

I don't think it would return. It could always become a classic stage but it seems like the Pokemon Stadium 2 is going to take its place completely. Pokemon Stadium would be too much like Pokemon Stadium 2 to be included as a classic stage.

But it could still happen. I just don't think it's very likely.

I don't think naming it with a "2" implies that there's a "1". It's just named as the 2nd one, probably because it's different from the originals one, in the form of its field transformation; and both of them having the same name wouldn't be so great (as well as confusing).

But I do hope that both make it in (with the originals having graphic updates, or even altered a bit...especially the Rock stage).
The official FULL name for the one in Melee, is "Kanto: Pokémon Stadium" so maybe the one in Brawl'll be named "Johto: Pokémon Stadium 2".

Normally I would say that even the thought was kind of stupid, but then I remembered that in Melee there was the Mushroom Kingdom and the Mushroom Kingdom II. So therefore, it is entirely possible that there will be two Pokemon Stadiums. Whether the first will be a copy of the one from Melee is yet to be seen, but I do think that it's entirely possible that there could be two of them.
I honestly hope that there are two of them, although I don't think that it should be the same as in Melee. I've already stated on another thread that that stage invited far too much camping, so I just think that different loops of stage types (perhaps making the PS 1 a unit where the arena simply changes, while the second one is the more gimmicky things like the flying stage or teh icy ground when you enter Ice stage)
Either way, I'd be surprised if there was only one Pokemon Stadium.

It can be a reward complementary for beating adventure mode with Pokemon Trainer.

It would be stupid for the other stage to return.. Sakurai named the stage Stadium 2 because it's just an update of the Melee one, it'd be a big stage waste for the two of them returning. That is my opinion, of course. I doubt the original one would return, *though I am hoping for an updated Saffron City, or something along the lines of that stage.*

If ANY Classic Pokemon stage returned....

Saffron City would be the best choice.

Well since you pointed out the 2 on it, i have indeed reconsidered that maybe pokestadium 1 will return as a "classic stage" as they ddi with some of the 64 stages on melee.

but one thing is for sure about PS2 (lol): That **** is bannnnned.

PS where did you get the ike kirby picture, is it real or photoshopped?

Since the OP might take a while to answer I can...

...It's not real, it and a number of other kirby hat designs were made by...some artist(s)...There is a link to them somewhere...

i would like for the original to return because pokemon stadium 2 is not going to be a tournament competitive stage which sucks

Took the words out of my mouth.
That's exactly what I said. (the quote) but not really.

Lol your post makes NO since whatsoever. Your saying you like the new one and you dont like the old one but you dont know the difference? Lol wtf!? Anyways difference is...Stadium 2 is flat in its pokemon mode while stadium 1 has 2 platforms. Also stadium 2 has more terrains.

Look closer.. it has two platforms also and it doesn't just have more terrains it has four seperate and completely different ones. The way you're phrasing it makes it seem as if they were added on but the originals are there.

I know all of you keep saying that it''s only called Pokemon Stadium 2 because it's an updated version of the one in melee, but Battlefield is still Battlefield in Brawl despite some differences. Also, like some one mentioned earlier the only level in a smash game so far that has a two in its name is Mushroom Kingdom II (in melee), which had to be named that because there was already a Mushroom Kingdom in melee.

If sakurai didnt want to make a reference to pkoemon stadium from melee, why didnt he name the new stage "Pokemon Colosseum"?

I think that both stadium stages should be in, but i reckon it would be cool if you could merge the stages together, and have 1 stadium with all 8 stage types.

Also, does anyone know why sakurai didn't show the electric stage 4 Pokemon Stadium 2? Is there some secret that he doesn't want anyone to know about?

When I saw the screen shots of Pokemon Stadium 2 at smashbros.com, it looked like a re-creation of the Melee version of Stadium.

I think that that a lot of stages will probably return from Melee/64, but only as "classic" stages.

since Sakurai named this stage "2" I'm also guessing that we'll probably see the Melee version of it as a returning classic stage, idk why but I have a feeling Sakurai might include it as well
