As suggested by demoncaterpie, I will post this. First, since I really don't care to really write at this time at night, I shall retire with a paragraph of a poem. Now here are the rules:

  • Anyone can join
  • Title each post RE: Poem Battle #[This is number 0], so the next person to reply would be #1, then #2. It's just a way I can count. Only list it when you are actually responding.
  • Send either a response poem paragraph or an addition to the poem
  • The response does not have to match the style or the flow of the previous entry
  • Any response can be any style you so choose.
  • Avoid sex, or anything X-rated.
  • Only a paragraph, which comes out to at least four lines. At most, six or seven.
  • Have fun and pray that this get stickyed.

Alright, here is the paragraph:

"Time drops in decay
Like a candle burnt out.
And the mountains and woods
Have their day, have their day;
But, kindly old rout
Of the fire-born moods,
You pass not away."

W.B. Yeats, The Celtic Twilight

Alright, so this is how we will start. I'll give a mock-respnse to better explain the rules of the battle.

Re: Poem Battle #0

"Whilst the sun pass between specks of gold,
Only to leave blackest night upon our midst.
You shall be the light onto my bosom which my heart proclaims
And though the tappered candle burns out,
your form melts in my hands not."

[Example. Not actual post.]

I'm sleepy after that. So I'll leave you all to respond.

RE: Poem Battle #2

Silence to fear and ashes to smear
No trust to ensnare my mind's deceit
I know now what I long to touch
The lips and body I longed to brush
And heart I wanted mine as such
Now I know what you are--a sl*t.
