ahh well.

Work on follow ups for Shuffles, a perfectly shuffled d-air is almost useless if you do not add in a shine or something. Sometimes you did follow up, some times you didn't.

Sometimes the U-air is not the best choice. Right around 60-80 damage, its better to use a sex kick and knock them off the stage (and then follow up with some ledge gaurding game)

You seem to rely on the U-air a lot, its a great move, but its best as a low damage juggler and a KO move, mid damage is where you want to send them left or right, not up.

yeah, but your good, I expect good things from you lol.

was that directed at me?

I really hope not, because I mentioned shine once, and it was

what should I have said then?

a shineless fox won a tournament here the other day.

shines are amazing though

hmm, well you only did this once but i might as well mention it, theres no reason to waveshine to upsmash at low percents, waveshine to grab, upthrow, upair, takes more damage and get the opponent out of your face. granted you grabbed right afterwards and did that, but thats not gonna happen every time.

also, you weren't playing very smart. you were kind of just running and jumping and hoping to connect attacks. You can get away with being one of those tech Foxes who simply overwhelms their opponent with a barrage of attacks, but to do that, you're gonna have to be a lot tricker and a lot faster. you'll need more wavedashing, dashdancing, wavelanding on ledges and such
if you want to play a patient type fox, you need to pick your moments better, dont just rush and and attack, and use lasers.

i would suggest that you short hop more...but there are a few great foxes who mainly full hop.
and of course you missed a few l-cancels but i'm sure you know that

also you've gotta get to those edges quicker for the edge hogs

how to beat standing needles on the fox recovery;
jump and cancel it into a iillusion/firefox at the height of the edge.

u missed the ledgehop drill into shine alot its very important.

WD out of sheild against Dsmash

aginst shiek i tihnk u shuold drill even more, there were a few times where i saw u had a free aerial and u chose to Bair. drill >waveshine > grab/usmash does more damage and puts sheik in a bad position.

Notes I made during the match.

smasher01: stop approaching with full jump nair. It's really not that great a move. Also double jump to fast fall dair sort of fails. It's really predictable.

Work on your followups with shine. Any shine you land should be wavedashed out of and into a grab or usmash or something.

Work on your tech skill; you're missing L cancels left right and center, and a lot of your movements are awkward.

You fired a laser near the end of the match. You should be doing that more.

You seem to be looking for ways to start combos with drill and stuff. Try grabbing, it's pretty awesome.

Watch your opponent. You're jumping into stuff.

Saw your request for sheik advfice for your friend, watching the video again. Here are my notes.

Forward smash sucks. Don't use it, because he's not going to walk into it.

Downsmashing isn't working for you most of the time. In fact, it got you killed like 15 seconds into the match because he punished you for it. Save it for tech chasing and edgeguarding.

Work on your DI. You were asking for that uair that lost you the first stock.

Look for more grab opportunities. You seem to just use fair (which was effective, but he wasn't watching and jumped into them)

Not really much to say except some overall things that I'll adress now.

For both of you: Don't attack blindly. Watch your opponent and try to control your instincts to sidestep when you don't need to. Just keep practicing. Both of you need to improve your fluency and your ability to control your character. Try to think, practice combos, study your opponent, watch videos, invent stuff. These are things that will help you improve in the long run past just strategies. What you need to improve is really more universal in the game than specific to Fox. Keep it up though; glad to see people still playing Melee.
