Toon Link main here, but recently I switched to Marth in certain match ups.

I'm played with Marth in melee but he still seems a little new to me.

I need to still learn a lot more and practice much more before he will be ready for a second at a tourney.

It would be awesome if the Marth users on here would give their feedback and help me learn Marth again.

What should I stop doing?
What should I continue doing?
Any critique or feedback is very appreciated.

Recovering against him aslo gives me trouble sometimes.

I only do that when I'm above the stage. Dolphin Slash and second jump is honestly all he has going for him otherwise, although shield breaker gives him a slight forward boost. Dancing Blade elevates you a bit at the peak of your jump, but that's all it can do; so it's a one time only thing.

Yea his recovery is limited and its different from toon link recovering because I dont have projectiles to throw at an opponent trying to edgeguard me.

Is there anything on my marth thats really a bad habit or something I need to stop doing?

Do i dolphin slash too much on stage?
Or forward B too much?

Dolphin Slashing on stage is kinda bad imo, leaves you vulnerable. It's good for a surprise (read: another thread I can't think of but is on this board) since you're not really hitting with it much (move decay comes to mind), but that's all I can see for grounded Dolphin slashes. Don't use it too much, but don't rule it out.

I find Marth's recovery just fine even if he lost the boost from Dancing Blade.
