I know this isn't as serious as a topic as many of the others here, and if it needs to be moved to the Proom, sorry, my fault. I want to know what people's opinions are on the BCS system. We've seen several teams get screwed in the past because of the system, is it actually time to replace it? The Big XII South champion was crowned based on their BCS standings. [for those that don't follow them, Texas beat Oklahoma 45-35 in October, and they have identical conference records. But Oklahoma is going to the Big XII championship because of a three way tie with Texas Tech, who beat Texas, but was beat by Oklahoma.]
I am a diehard OU fan but I think its time to get rid of his system once and for all. Many may argue that there isnt enough time. But if you take the top eight teams, then the whole process takes 3 weeks (8 -> 4 -> 2 -> champion). The whole bowl season takes almost that long. Many conferences don't want the money from bowl games to go away, but why move the location of the games? Those venue's can still be used and teams that win can still be rewarded. Even so, it should be more based around the game, not the money.
thoughts?
