Playing Snake without a GCN controller?

Is it possible to be at least a decent Snake using the Wiimote and Nunchuck combo? I know this will prevent me from doing the mortar dash, but I really don't feel like buying a GCN controller again. Last one I bought broke in about 2 weeks. -_-

You can do the Mortar Slide. Though, Gamecube controller is the BEST way to play Smash.

Thanks for letting us know your preferences, Magik0722 and MuBa.

Playing as Snake with the Wii Remote/Nunchuck is fine as long as you like it. You may be at a few disadvantages, maybe just the C-Stick and being able to do some techniques, like the C-Nikita, but that's all.

I use the nunchuck combo, I just set the Smashes to the + Dpad, C-nikita can be done, as well as contact and noncontact mortarslide. If you set to Tilt Smashes you just have to run, then do the tilt Down smash and you make an automatic noncontact mortarslide.
Just if you wonder my configuration is very close to the standard: tap jump off, jump on the C button, shield on the Z, the + for automatic smashes, tilt Smashes on, A for attack, B for Special, and A+B for Grab ( I almost always do the Grab out of shield anyway so Z+A is good enought)

Well I use the nunchuck wiimote combo and I think I'm a little more than decent. I learned to play with the wiimote+nunchuck when i first got brawl because I knew it would be better and I could charge my wiimote. now I'm so used to it that I play with it better than I played with the gc controller.

Oh yea btw my settings for the wii remote are similar to the gc controller. (d-pad right is jump, d-pad down is special, B button is shield, Z is grab, A is A lol) I never used the c-stick in melee anyway so that doesn't bother me much.

Mortarsliding is ridiculously easy with the wiimote+nunchuck after a day or so of practice, so that shouldn't be an issue. Other than tap jump off and Shake Smash on (makes it easier to mortarslide), I use the standard wiimote+nunchuck controls. It really sucks to play Snake without the nunchuck though- you can hardly do any AT's with the wiimote, and that affects just about every character.

You lose the amazing abilities of the C-Stick, but it is a reasonable trade-off if you don't have/don't want to use a GCN controller.
