So I'm getting ready to do some playthroughs of old PS1 games and was probably going to do it on my PS3, however, I have the origianl PS3(the one without the dualshock), and I thought I had heard at some point that certain games are unreliable on the PS3. In particular someone told me that playing Metal Gear Solid 1 was not a good idea. Is this true? If so what games are not good for the PS3, is it just the ones where the vibration was important?

MGS1 should work fine with a Sixaxis controller. The only thing I can think of that would be affected by gameplay is a boss fight where said boss breaks the fourth wall to show off his psychic prowess. Other than that I can't think of any problems.

Without a Dual Shock, it takes away some of the experience, but you can still play MGS. It's not necessary, but it's a nice addition to some fourth wall stuff.
