Hi desert, Socal
I'm sure evry1 already knows how 2 chaingrab and wobble.
But, how do you go about playing IC's w/o those?

i'm not asking how to play them, just how evry1lays w/o the grabs combos.
Since I find them a little more fun to play w/o the grab combos.

Maybe even a vid or 2.

shorthopped bair/nair/dair attack combined with desynched blizzard/nanapult/ice blocks.... dsmashing and all kind of smahs+blizzard/ice block desynchs.... there is always a way to survive without grabs. and if your opponent has no second jump left... uair juggle works perfectly =)

Don't have a plan for battle. Its better if you mix up attacks, don't do the same thing twice. Do thing out of the ordinary. I personally like throwing in some arial attacks into the mix to surprise my opponents. Most IC players warn against air attacks and most people listen to the better players. By going against the preset ideas of IC playing you can actually scare your opponent with increasingly random attacks and unorthodox behavior.

When the fight gets too intense i find that its better to find a nice plot of the arena and just camp while i wait for an opening. this also forces them to come to you.

I guess what I'm saying is that for me its just better to surprise them and keep them on the edge rather than having a definite strategy.

chu loves to do fair -> jab (reset) -> grab

(not desynced or out of a throw, just either as an approach or as a defensive tactic with retreating/spot fair)

I don't really have a plan, but maybe that's why I'm not too good with them, lol.

actually, it's better not to. just know the matchup and combo accordingly.

a lot of ic players limit themselves to grab game... which is a bad idea lol. try playing against a luigi or jiggly or ganon or falcon... you will get pwned because they are impossible to grab. (good falcons, at least.)

the great choknater advice to ic players: make up your own tricks, because people know how to escape the popular ones. cg's and desynched blocks are too predictable these days.

exactly. everyone nowadays just uses the same moveset: chain-grabs, de-syncs, and wavedancing. theres no originality anymore which means that its all the more supprising for your opponents when you come out of nowhere with your own, last minute combos.

Usually dash-attacks lead up to great combos that are pretty hard to DI out of. Especially on fast-fallers. Just initiate with DD-desynch to Blizzard and ****.

thats good, but i think that you could start that with an ice-block-chaser and follow it up with something like an UAIR or something.
