The first time I saw someone do this was in this match:

DaShizWiz vs. RockCrock 1
at 1:27, DaShizWiz does it just to show off

Battlefield is definitely the best place to do this, but I can also do it on Dreamland, Pokemon Stadium, and Jungle Japes.

I saw a lot of possibilities for this and have practiced it to a point where I can do it consistently from the ledge, on the top platform, and just as a method of recovery. Sure it's flashy, but how would you guys implement this in your Falco game?

Here are a few of my suggestions:
1. Instead of sweetspotting with the phantasm or landing on the stage, platform cancel it so you don't lag.
2. Platform cancel the top platform, fall off, waveland off one of the lower platforms to an aerial.
3. If you hit someone off the other side of the stage, this is a flashy way to edgehog.
4. If you're up a stock or two, do the first two parts of this, but instead of phantasming to the edge, just spike them after you fall off the second platform cancel.

Yes, I know all of this stuff is unnecessary, but are you guys saying you WOULDN'T use this if you were sandbagging against scrubs?

Yeah I use it sometimes throws off your opponents with a very unorthodox approach, all the stuff you listed are good uses of platform cancelling a phantasm.

I'm pretty sure shiz learned that from forward at insomnia which was about a month before that tornament. Shiz was on fire that tourney, that's all I can say. It's a good way to mix up your game. I need to try doing that.

So you can drop off then wall jump to edge cancel off the phantasm if you do it right. I'm patenting that one. If you ever see it just call it the Big R. Also this is on battlefield.
