Pivot Fsmash vs CC Fsmash?

I'm new to the competitive scene and I decided to main Marth, but something got me curious. While dashing, you can crouch and then be able to perform any move, or you can pivot for the same result. I know the inputs are different, but is one better than the other/how do they compare?

pivot fsmash comes out of the initial dash therefore quicker

cc fsmash comes out only in the run animation, after the dash, and therefore a bit slower

there are situations where you can't cc fsmash and there are ones where you can't pivot as well

if youre close to the opponent, pivot fsmash is more viable. however if youre running across stage and you wanna fsmash you gotta cc.

To add to this, I believe all characters in Melee have a 7 frame crouch animation.
