From the videos I've seen, it looks like Dash Dancing is back in full force.
Not sure why people are getting upset, honestly.

the game is good. :)

there are ways to win against competitive players without dancing or or wave dashing.

13 more days and we will know 100%

Really wan't to play this game to be honest. We have to wait till next month though.
as soon as i get it imma be making videos for whoever wants them
i have an LL :)

Yeah, I wanted the new 3DS XL but it looks like only Japan are getting it this year. The only good news is that UK is getting it 2015, they haven't even given us a time frame of when we will get it in 2015. At least I have a Wii U anyway...

yes my grammar is whatever unless I'm writing something for school!
my bad jesus .

the turn canceling aka pivot cancel?
very effective.

example - someone is chancing you on final destination and right when you get to the edge you do a curvy type turn now and if you time it right you can quickly forward smash or hold a forward smash. when its done right it looks and feels very good.

so instead of being vulnerable turning around you have a few options.
Well I know what turn canceling is, I made the original thread of Turn Cancelling with the gifs and stuff. But did he show you things we didn't know about? Such as jumping out of the momentum, or it being used in conjunction with a stutter step.

nice i was telling people to search for your post!
you da man.

he wouldn't elaborate on the details, but after i said something he would smile and say don't worry.
he seemed to know a lot about smash and could tell if "you knew" a lot about smash so I'm putting my faith in the nintendo reps at the irvine spectrum nintendo tour.

i didn't really focus on the DI because the matches were so damn short

Interesting. And I will add that I did discover turn canceling, that you can give thanks the Italian Smash Bros community, I merely started the discussion of it. It seems like Nintendo has a lot planned for the competitive community, let's hope the community accepts it.

Hmm that sounds interesting, them telling us to not worry seems like they might have changed the game up from the E3 build making it even better. Wow I'm less worried than I was to begin with but I still have the slight doubt, 2 weeks to go for Japan and 4 weeks and about 5 days left and we get to play it.

LOZ - right there with you brotha, smash 4 seems like a new game of its own. i HATE brawl.
so i would hate anything that reminds me of it. When i was playing the 3DS i was extremely excited with the speed
the brand new turning system and even the animations.

i don't need the game to be like melee,

i just want it to flow.

with the amiibo thing it makes me feel 100% that this game will be more competitive.
if you can train your amiibo to level 50 and beyond. and he described it to be level 9 plus 41
i have trouble beating a level 9 cpu here and there.. level 20 and beyond has to be some super epic way of playing

either way the demo i played satisfied me , and its not even the final or latest build :)

so whatever happens from here I'm okay

Ferioku- the count down starts now!

Well this makes me hyped as hell. I'm so excited to just aimlessly screw around in training mode for hours trying to figure out new ATs :]

I just got home from playing the new smash on 3ds....
HOLY ****! I'm blown away.
I'm sorry but whoever said this game mechanics are closer to brawl probably smoked a bunch of crack before hand.
The speed was intense, the controls were amazing. the analog stick took some time getting use to but overall it was jump right in fun.

dash dancing takes a bit if not a lot of practice but its easier depending on the speed of the character. but it is in the game EDIT* 8/31/14 (the dancing video i posted below in the comments is more like the brawl in place dancing, there were times the distance was larger but it was extremely difficult to keep up... could have been a demo glitch..but i didn't want to clarify this after going back to play the demo again....the inplace dashing was extremely effective for the new mechanic below though..without a video its hard for me to elaborate)

Pivot cancel - allows you to run one way and turn around into a forward smash.
so if your running towards the edge and you time it just perfect your character turns around and hits the opponent with a forward smash.

I also got a few more details. but i don't want anyone loosing there jobs. but there are supposedly a few more mechanics that will make this game very competitive.

amiibos also will train to level 50 and beyond and yes that is like level 9 plus 41.
so as you learn you will also learn from your kick *** amiibo. but i was playing smash while listening to this part so my bad I can't elaborate.

played with everyone except luigi and donkey kong.
everyone really felt speedy.

Ive been playing project M. and it felt like the successor to melee and brawl and M
i think nintendo is listening to the Smash community

just sharing ... hands are still shaking from happiness

I seriously doubt anyone is worried about tracking down this random rep mentioned in this thread to see that they are fired for telling you this especially in only less than two weeks away from Japan launch. You should just go ahead and tell us the few more mechanics that will enhance competitive play... cmon you know you want to =)

Oh, you'd be surprised then. Doesn't matter how close to launch it is, violation of an NDA is a violation of an NDA. If it's not supposed to be public knowledge, let's not start soliciting.

Exactly ,
I was just told don't worry over and over again , and I confirmed it wasn't a newer build so expect more of the things your asking about basically.
But that's what he said , not what I'm telling YOU! Lol
I have faith this game will be EXTREMELY UNIQUE BUT HAVE I SOMETHING THAT CARRIES ITSELF FURTHER THAN BRAWL OR MELEE

So just to clarify

A rep told you how to Pivot cancel? If so, that is so cool that a NOA rep has become aware of a developing advanced tech, and then explained it to you. I'm not sure if I believe you but, if you're being honest, rad.

What exactly did the rep tell you about the new build? No ones losing their job man. Nintendo is not going to track down a Nintendo rep from Pax through a forum post. It just won't happen.

If you can give us info on what someone said, then I would be more inclined to believe you, but right now it seems awfully shady.

i couldn't do any more variations super smoothly but there were some really awesome points.
the possibilities are there but i believe the new build will have some surprises.. this is what the reps were making it seem like.
they had a bunch of notes that would be in the final model

also this has pivot canceling in there

): Dat first video of "Dash dancing" is kinda blah. Dash dancing is technically in all of the games but it is only really useful in 64 and melee. The distance you cover+the unpracticality of it makes it essentially not useful anymore. He has to dash in an even shorter window than melee Sheik plus it is very possible to mess it up and slide.

I wonder if this "top secret" competitive mechanic that is apparently supposed to be in the final build a returning melee mechanic or a brand new mechanic....

I think it would be cool if in the final build they did completely restore melee style dash dancing
