Pirated Brawl?

Pirated DVDs are hilarious... the text on the movie cover is always full of horrible typos... to the point where it is sometimes unreadable... (if it's even about the right movie XD)

and you're usually better off turning off subtitles since they will just confuse you more...

I wouldn't want to play brawl with bad text :( ... though the game is probably already done so that doesn't matter...

And I'd play it regardless ;)
That is not how piracy works. All "official" pirated material is a 1:1 copy of the original media, in digital form. In the case of the Wii, it has to be a 1:1 copy (except for the region) to work at all.

I don't know why you guys are even discussing this, fact is, if you had a business you wouldn't want people pirating your product unless you're a fool. And obviously it's not a very moral thing to do, but no one's going to give anyone a new slant on life in these forums. Moar Brawl plz?

Corax King: You're thinking of fansubs, I think, and people don't "fansub" games. xD

1)poor??, lol the modchip it's cheaper than a game
2) lol again, you don't know nothing about it, or can you do a modchip yourself??, then i'll sut up
3) That's for everything y'know, i preffer an original game, cos when you buy pirated disc, or downloaded it, you don't feel like finishing it.

And other thing, the biggest part of the ones that play with pirated games, are casual gamers.
Haha, you made my day.

From what I could make out from all the spelling errors, You are calling me a casual gamer. You my friend are an idiot, and before you make accusations, get your facts right.

Stopped reading when I reached here. Most people who are against piracy are either.

1)Poor and can't afford the modchip/other things needed.
2)Know nothing about it.
3)Big fanboys that love the game company sooooooo much, they would give every dollar just because they're that sucked in.
I suppose I fall under number 3. I liked the Summon Night GBA games for instance, yet number 3 never made it here. I wonder why? Perhaps because a lot of the fans pirated it, because GBA games are easy to pirate. Poor sales + having a lot of pirates as the ones actually playing it = not bothering to translate. I bought both of them. I buy the low-key but fun games like Geometry Wars galaxies. You have to support games you like for any chance of them continuing their work. That's just how the system WORKS.

Pirating will probably not hurt Brawl's sales at all. However, it doesn't make you right or intelligent to steal anything just because you can or because you think you deserve it or because you will most likely get away with it. You can really tell something about someone's humanity and morality because they think they're "sticking it to the man" for downloading and modifying their games and consoles just for the sake of playing something for free.

You're not doing anything cool or remarkable, really. Stealing from some big anonymous corporation with virtually no chance of getting caught to avoid paying for something? How utterly lame. In fact, if someone had the bravado to actually STEAL a copy of Brawl once it hit retailers, before the release date, I'd commend them on a piracy well risked and excecuted. But that would probably never happen. I wonder why?

XD Sakurai, the Willy Wonka of Videogames. I can imagine him putting some golden booklets in the boxes so you can go visit MAGICAL Sora Ltd.!!!! AWESOMENES!!! X3 I mean, why doesn't he do that? T_T

See any similarities? XD

Now, going on topic :p I live in Peru. Here we had Pokémon Diamond and Pearl 2 days before it was released on the US (we had it April the 20th, while the US had it on the 22nd). So I imagine, maybe we will have it earlier too!! X3

But that would probably never happen. I wonder why?

Lol, oh wow. The reason I have modded consoles is because I'd rather have money for hanging out with my friends, rather the spending it on a game that I will beat in less then a week, so then when I'm done with it, it will just sit there and gather dust or just be sold. (Only game I really play still are online ones or melee) I believe this is the same case for majority of people out there with modded systems, No one even mentioned anything about "sticking it to the man". If someone was pirating for that case, they're just stupid.

Everyone steals something in their lifetime, hell, I bet you download music for free.

It' not a virus, because it is protect by a password and in a GameFAq board, peoples don't have a password and they can't proof it's a virus too !

I've been contacting the issuer of the demo for weeks now and he still won't give up the password. I'm ready to declare "Fake" even though he has responded to me multiple times.

Viruses can be password-protected too, you know...
Seems to me the guy obviously wants some attention.

Gamefaqs board users were saying they got into it and that it was a virus. I don't know if that's true or if it's possible -- I'd like to beleive that it really is the demo! -- but I'd be wary/skeptical.

Still. Good luck to you guys. :D

Yea Viruses can be put into rar/zip files. Viruses aren't usually big files. They around less then 1 MB. But in this case, that zip file could contain a bunch of viruses that equal the demo's size. Scary.

However, if it IS a virus, simply putting the Password and UNZIPPING it causes NO harm. You have to execute the program yourself for it to infect your computer. If you have an anti-virus program, It'd be wise to virus scan it first, then click it.

that is, if you even get the password. Also, I have no idea how anyone would even think there is a demo out.

You're an idiot. People who are against piracy are people who understand that our economy revolves around spending money on products and services. Companies produce games because consumers are willing to spend money on these games. Every time you pirate a game you're depriving these companies of money and making the process of creating games slightly less worthwhile. I'm against piracy because the selfishness of people who pirate games is hurting the game industry. If not for piracy maybe game prices would go down, or publishers would be willing to spend more on development. You may make dumb excuses like "oh, but it's only a fraction of their profits, what's the big deal?" but I don't appreciate people like you getting free rides, leeching off of my hard-earned money.

the employees r the ones who sell the games early,
EXAMPLE:
Gamestop gets in the shipment of brawl lets say two weeks before launch, greedy emloyees arent satifide with their pay, so they steel a couple of games so they can sell them early but with a price, ussualy they charge $10 - $15 dollars extra for the game...

by the way...
this is how i got HALO 3 a week before launch...
and im gonna do the same for Brawl!!!

Nothing I say is going to make you change your ways of course, but I'm assuming some people besides just me look at your type unfavorably.

While valuing friends more than video games is a plus, if video games aren't worth your money, they aren't worth your time.

I will admit to some level of piracy though. If I can't buy it in this country, I will download it. It's the foreign companies fault for not making it available to me :p

Fun fact! There are viruses that execute when you unzip the file. Can't remember what they're called, but there's a specific name for them. =\

virus scan the zip file. :)

unless your telling me viruses can execute themselves as soon as you download the zip file. that would be horrible.

The bad part is, it's hard to tell you have a virus sometimes. I'm so used to actions of spyware I forgot what viruses do.
