*Gobble Gobble!*
It is getting to be that time near the end of the second to last month of the year, but not quite! In honor of the holiday that is all about eating good food and shopping till you drop the day or so after, I've decided to host a special themed tournament.
Well actually, this tournament will be my second themed one as I have previously hosted a tournament with a theme, Girl Power #1: War of the Demi-Goddesses! Overall, this shall be the third tournament I have hosted here in OTL and with that in mind, I have decided to up the ante a bit and expand the available number of combatants from 16...
TO 32!
Before I can talk about rules and when this tournament shall be held, I've got to talk about the theme a little bit first.
The theme for this tournament shall be "Pilgrims and Indians" as you've already noticed from the title of this thread.
The "Pilgrims" are any newcomer from Brawl or 4 who is in this game.
The "Indians" shall be any character from the first two games who is in this game.
Both factions will consist of 16 players each. No more and no less!
The starting date for this tournament shall be on November 15th, 2014, a Saturday, at 8PM Central Time
Rules/Guidelines:
1. As always, general forum rules and etiquette still apply.
2. If you have participated in either of my last tournaments, then you know that I reward Battle Points to the top place finishers. This tournament having a much bigger pool of combatants and all will recognize the top 8 and therefore have larger payouts of Battle Points. Read here in the link below if you don't know what BP is.
http://smashboards.com/threads/otl-...ter-redeem-all-of-your-hard-earned-bp.374363/
3. Also related to my past two tournaments, if you have either participated in either of my past tournaments or you are new to my style of online tournaments, then you know/shall know that I will hound you over being punctual and on time. It is one thing to sign up. It is another thing to sign up and then neglect to check in before the tournament begins or just plain not be here when the tournament starts. If you think something will bar you from properly participating in my tournament, then please let me know beforehand so I can take your name off the sign up sheet and the challonge brackets. I will send no less than three PMs the week the tournament will start.
The first one will be a general reminder to set aside some time the day/night of the tournament if you haven't already.
The second PM will direct you to the challonge page for the tournament so you can go ahead and check in.
I've allowed up to two days before the tournament begins to check yourself in. Therefore, there should be no excuses unless something unavoidable IRL occurs prior to the start of the tournament.
The third and final PM will be sent a few hours prior to the start of the tournament as another friendly reminder of sorts to check in if you haven't already. Those who fail to check in before the start of the tournament are automatically disqualified when the tournament begins.
NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
4. When signing up, the format should look like this on the sign up sheet below. (username)/(challonge username)/(3DS Friend Code)/(Characters you plan on using or in this case characters that you are allowed to use). This allows for your opponent to easily find your friend code the day of the tournament and cuts down immensely on time wasted as well as frustration.
4.5. If you are using a Mii Fighter, specify its gender and what class you shall use. i.e +
5. The style of this tournament is Single Elimination. This means you have one chance, one shot, one whatever at winning the tournament. Lose a match and you are eliminated. That's that! No more chances for you!
5.1. Best is 3 out of 5 (first to win 3 rounds wins the match)
5.2 Time shall be set to 6 minutes and stocks set to 2!
6. Custom Moves are allowed. Custom Equipment however is NOT allowed!
7. Stage List:
Legal:
Battlefield
Final Destination
Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
Omega Versions of stages (allowed in Semi-Finals and beyond)
Counterpicks:
Arena Ferox
Tortimer Island
Reset Bomb Forest
Prism Tower
8. NO ITEMS!!!!
9. In the event you drop out of a match due to lag, start the round over with however many stocks you had.
9.2 If you have something come up during the tournament you cannot avoid, that's fine, just know you will have to be disqualified as a result
10. When you are done with your matchup, report it in the chatroom so I can make the necessary adjustments in the challonge brackets.
11. Once the sign up sheet is full, but you would like to possibly participate in the tournament, you will be put on the reserves sheet and in the event of missing players, you will take one of their places.
