I just want a comparison: which one is better overall? why? how do the knockbacks compare? hows the damage? priority?

I used to play as fastfallers a lot, so i hated peach's downsmash, but i dont think ive had enough pikachu experience yet to fully understand his dsmash...

any help would be great!

Pikachu's is not as good but it is pretty much the same...

It hits more but does less damage. It also has a smaller hitbox.

I'm not sure about if you CC it that you'll take all the hits. I'm guessing yes...

Peach has the best D-smash.

Aside from random invincibility around the edges, the move singlehandedly ****** the IC's ground game altogether if you're intelligent with it, and it destroying how half the cast fights you on the ground, yeah it's safe to say Peach's MIGHT be better than Pikachu's SDIable, "CCable", slower D-smash.

I guess what Pikachu has on Peach's is more combo potential? Kind of?

hmm, somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but as far as i can tell.

peach's does more damage...duh XD
priority...i'd also give to peach just cuz it seems to be more disjointed than pikachu's
knockback: peach; i've never KO'd anybody with pika's dsmash. ever.
i also think peach's dsmash starts up slightly faster too, but i'm not too sure.

so overall, i'd say peach's downsmash is better; they both have very similar uses except pika's might set up for an aerial or usmash if they have bad DI while peach's will ruin their stock if they have bad DI, haha.

but while we're on the topic of pika's dsmash...it's still useful:
-like i mentioned earlier, pika's dsmash may set up for some sort of follow up if you're lucky.
-it's probably one of your fastest moves in terms of start up: it can be a "get off me" move at times (but rising uair works better in most cases), or if you don't think you have a move that is quick enough, you might opt for the dsmash.
-it can be pretty good for gaining control of a match since it can get through some characters' aerials
-it can be used like peach's dsmash for edgeguarding (mostly spacies, falcon, and ganon). if people aren't expecting it or don't know about it, this will KO them.
-overall i'd say it's a pretty good defensive smash but not so much an offensive smash(who cares?? usmash ftw! =p) unless you get lucky.

Peach's outclasses it in every conceivable way.

Faster, stronger, more priority, and Peach's "combo" potential from D-smash is much better than anything Pika has to offer with his paltry moveset aside from chain grabs on FD which would be the one exception.

The one case it would be better would be on edgeguard because often you can't tech Pika's D-smash because you'll hit a weak hit and they'll be semi-spiked really low towards the stage without hitting it. But that's also stupidly hard to do, probably impossible to produce consistently, and probably the product of some awkward SDI and whatnot at work.

This isn't Brawl Pikachu (thank god), there's really no comparison. Peach's is better in almost every way.

Peach's dsmash comes out on frame five, the second fastest dsmash in the game (amongst others) behind only Zelda. She also has invincibility frames on it.
