Something I learned a long time ago but meant to post.

If you do your side-b in the air and then prevent yourself from landing on the ground in a traditional way you will "store" the hopless confusion.

A few ways I have found to store confusion:
(Side-b then do the following options)

1: Land on ledge then do any of the roll, stand up, or attack options.
2: Land while charging shadow ball.
3: Land with your up-b with the lag.
4: Land with aerial (L canceled or not).
5: Land while in your shadow ball throw animation.
6: Land while in down-b animation.

Things that refresh the hop:

1: Landing on the ground with out an attack.
2: Wave dashing.
3: Landing in side-b animation.

Good luck finding things to do with this!
If you have any ideas for this feel free to post them below.

It is just as punishable yes.

The hop puts you in a set fall speed so perhaps you will not be punishable with out it. I do not know.

There are uses for it though. Perhaps you can do the battlefield gimp on PS1 or other stages because you pull them lower?

One way that it is not useless is forcing someone onto a platform. The hop makes this harder in certain situations. The goal is to get them in confusion under a platform.

If you are crazy enough to team with someone as mewtwo, you could use it as a save because it gives people their 2nd jump back.

I just like the option myself hah. Too bad it's somewhat a pain to set up.
