What exactly is PAX? I get that it's a gaming exhibition, but I don't really understand what that entails. What games are likely to be there? How casual/competitive is the environment? Will there be a smash tournament?
I'd almost definitely come down if there's smash, considering it's in the winter holidays, but I saw there aren't too many tickets left and they're a lot more expensive than other events (which hints to me that it's different to anything I've been to before, which is why I'm asking you guys what it actually is), and there isn't much specific info on the site about what it actually is other than a gaming convention.

It's very similar to E3 in the USA i think. I will be about showing off new games/gear/ new gen consols and everything else related. It's not really a competitive tournament sort of thing but there is a random games tournament which in each round the players play a randomly selected game ect. (dunno about the deets on that one) I think there will be info panels for some game developers and maybe some Cos players around. More like an expo than anything else.
