Pausing while frame-by-framing?

I'm sure many of you know of the frame-by-frame code (Start activates/deactivates, Z to advance, D-up+X is new Start). At first, I thought it would be extremely useful to easily take snapshots of specific frames of attacks (advance to specific frame, pause, deactivate frame-by-frame to take snapshot). However, I quickly found out that you can't pause while frame-by-frame mode is active, so to me it's useless. (I tried three ways of pausing: pressing D-up+X on GCN controller 1, pressing D-up+X on GCN controller 2, and pressing + on Wiimote-only controller 2. All of these work when frame-by-frame mode is inactive.)

So, I guess my question is this: is there some other code that would allow me to pause while frame-by-frame mode is active? Have I not been able to find it, did I manage to find an old version of the frame-by-frame code, is it not possible, or what?

I had the same intention of taking snapshots when I found this code. I expressed the need for it here but it wasn't the main concern of the topic.

I was able to pause while using frame by frame o.o

maybe it was a different code that you guys used >.>

but why do you need to, you already are "paused" on certain frames, just get the 2 characters close enough and you will have a decently sized screen of your character anyways.

The point is that you can't take snapshots if you're not paused, and even if you could it'd be useless without being able to manually control the camera.

Uh, bump.

I'm guessing the main question is whether the frame-by-frame code has its own system or it hijacks the pause system and therefore cannot be used at the same time.

If I'm not mistaked, pausing costs frames. We want a snapshot of the current frame while frozen.
Personally, I don't care about this stipulation. If you want a pic of frame X, and pausing costs Y frames, just hit it on frame X-Y. All I want to do is activate the pause system while the frame-by-frame rig is active (and then turn off the frame-by-frame for camera manipulation).
