See y'all there!

64 and Melee singles. Tournament will be ran efficiently and timely, and I can guarantee the event will run no later than 8:00 PM. Anyone who has been to any of my tournaments in the past can attest for their timeliness and general good mood.

This event will be fun. We sell Gamecube controllers and 64 controllers at the store that this is in, retro through modern games, and there's a big huge arcade, so bring some extra quarters.

No PM this time, I'm trying to figure out the best way to work it in without delaying everything too late - this event will be the test that will show if we can do it at our next event. I -REALLY- hope we can do it at our next event.

If the internet holds, I'll be streaming live, if the internet does NOT hold, I will simply be recording (and with commentary also of course) and then uploading after the fact.

==========================================================================

Another Castle Video Games is hosting yet another Super Smash Bros Melee AND Super Smash Bros 64 tournament! The last smash event we held had over 25 attendees - let's see if we can make this one even larger!

I (Gimpyfish62) will be hosting and running the live stream (if the internet holds!) We all hope to see you there, if you have any questions feel free to come into the store and ask us, or post in this event and we'll answer your questions as quickly as possible. We'll be streaming atwww.twitch.tv/62bitgaming during the event!

This event is going to be in 1v1 format. It will be a double elimination bracket, and there is a $10 entry fee. We will be starting with the Smash 64 tournament and then moving on to the Super Smash Bros Melee event as soon as that is over. Stay tuned for details.

Stage Bans

For Best of 3 sets, each player gets 1 stage ban in Melee.
For Best of 5 sets, there are no stage bans, there are also no stage bans in 64.

General Rules

Items are set to off.
Melee: Stock and Time are set to 4 stock and 8 minutes, respectively.
64: Stock and Time are set to 5 stock.
Double Blind*: If elected.
Contest Port Priority*: If elected.
Neutral Start*: If elected.
Standard DSR*
Gentleman’s Clause*
Forced Character Selection*: Off
Matches that time out will be determined by the remaining number of lives, then percentage of the current stock. In the event of a percentage tie, the match should be replayed in full. Sudden Death is not to be played, and will not count.

How to Play a Set

1 Players select their characters. Either player may elect to Double Blind.
2 Use Stage Striking* to determine the first stage.
3 The players play the first match of the set.
4 Prior to starting this match, either player may elect to Contest Port Priority or Neutral Start.

Note: Only one of these two may be used, as both have a built in Port Selection mechanism using RPS. If there is a situation where a player would like to change which option they elected after playing the game of RPS, it is the opponent’s choice to allow it. The results from the previously played game of RPS will carry over.

5 Winning player of the preceding match bans a stage/stages (if applicable).
6 The losing player of the preceding match picks a stage for the next match.
7 The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
8 The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
9 The losing player of the preceding match gets first pick of port. Either player may elect for a Neutral Start, but RPS will not be played to determine first pick. The next match is played.

Repeat Steps 4 through 9 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete.
