im gonna go out on a limb and say wall e takes best picture.

i don't know about dark knight, seems possible also.

I would love it if Wall-E won. That would be great. I don't think the dark knight will because of the kinda of cheesy writing, but that's just my opinion.

I don't think Wall-E will get nominated. I think something like Slumdog Millionaire will win. Dark Knight could be nominated for picture/director, and Heath Ledger is pretty much a lock on supporting actor if for nothing else then how much everyone wants him to win

Gran Turino and Dark Knight are my favorites for Best Picture. I still think Heath Ledger will or should be in the running for an award. His performance was just riveting.

Not that he doesn't deserve it, but should Heath, or anyone really, get an Oscar just because "everyone wants him to win"? If he was really the best, he should get it, but otherwise, it should go to whoever did the best job. Please, don't take this as me trying in anyway to belittle Heath or his acting job. He really was brilliant. But, not having seen many new movies this year, I can't say at all for sure that he's the best.

Well the nominations are out now, and I'm assuming it'll go like the golden globes and Slumdog Millionaire will win. I'm not surprised TDK didn't get nominated for best picture, nor that Heath got a nom for best suporting actor(ironically, on the 1 year anniversary of his death)

I really liked Gran Torino as well. I dont think it got much credit for being so amazing.

Hmm, earlier I was thinking Two-face was also in makeup.

but now I think it's actually just computer effects.
