Reno, I did consult my gut. It told me I was hungry, so I got a sandwich.

I am wondering if it has occured to anyone on this thread that, due to the current success of the Transformers movie, not to mention talk of its eventual sequels, the intellectual property juggernaut that is Transformers is worth more than gold right now? And that, due to that fact, even if Nintendo wanted to feature a transformer, it would be financial lunacy for them to try and procure the rights to feature them?

This idea reminds me of "Popeye for Brawl", because both characters are extremely cool but aren't from video games anyway.

For Nintendo alternatives, I guess stuff from Custom Robo and Battle Clash has more chances of appearing in SSBB.

Anyways, for those who watched the movie, Optimus was kinda walljumping, so there's a hint that he could be another of the wall-jumpers in Brawl if he was.

Back to Optimus Prime, I wasn't aware he appeared in DreamMix TV World Fighters until Got Blood? mentioned it. Who knows? Maybe Nintendo will one day work in that wide kind of crossovers now that Konami is so close software-wise.
