So...I was facing a DDD at Luigi's mansion. During the fight, I notice about the distance with me and the opponent. Of course, the opponent was spaning waddle des and dos and random gordos. Then...I said "wait a moment..." I saw a waddle do...and DDD was on the side of the stage...I had 160 persent damage so...I down B and absorb the waddle do, witch got me back to 100 persent. However, I lost the match...what the meaing of all this?

To all lucas player, I just came with this little strategies for all lucas player everywhere! I was thinking of posting this on the Lucas threath but why not tactics?

My new strategy against DDD is to "mind game" them to trow waddle De and Do while avoiding Gordos. If you see a waddle Do, PROTECT IT if you want to lower your presentage!!! Of course, this only work if the DDD is on the other side of the stage so trying to absorb a waddle do while DDD is close to you, then it won't work. If DDD comes, PK fire them back and imedialty Down B the moment the Waddle Do start fring the star beam.

If the d3s smart he will just use a another ( to cancel it) when it gets close.

and that's when you jump in front of the other one and throw out a Fair.

I think this idea is really funny. Almost makes me want to try it the next time I play...

Note for noobs: Tournaments use team damage on

My friend and I have a Lucas/Zelda and Lucas/Dedede team that we use for this very reason.
That way you can plan the waddledee/doo spam :)

Honestly, though, the Lucas/Zelda team is alot more reliable for recovering percentage. Your teammate gets to choose when to attempt healing you, rather than having it based off of luck. (Though, with it based off of waddle-doos, he can continue playing however he wants to without having to focus any effort on healing you since you can do it yourself and protect the waddle-doo your d*** self)

Funnily enough, me and friend actually just discovered this tonight while playing 2v2 against some other friends. It's an easy way to regain some health but the opponents catch on quick. Then again, if you fail to protect it...it's not exactly hard for D3 to throw out another one.

i should try this tactic. if i knew the timing of star beams, i could use this to my advantage. i would like to know if i could absorb damage from multiple enemies for a greater healing effect?

Ha, no Dedede is going to let Lucas get close to a Doo on any reasonable stage (maybe on opposite sides of FD or on Bridge of Eldin). He can just cancel it or hit you with a SH aerial (lol Fair). Veeeery situational and easy to stop. I find shUair followed by Utilts or Ftilts a way better way to deal with spam. Or just toss out PKF a few times until he gets bored.

It may be situational, but if the chance arises, absolutely take advantage of it.

Any competent player using any character that can heal Lucas will catch on quick. So take it when it comes, but trying to mindgame them into playing into your hands usually doesn't work well. With healing, take every little bit. It helps.

dunno how much space DDD's will give you to do this but in teams it might be good
Alot of space <=P I'll suggest sending him off with a side smash after he drops a waddle Doo, but smash him when DDD have high presentage. If the waddle doo is far, low jump PK fire to gain side speed then PK magnet.
