I just wanna see how you guys view :132: fights. For me personally, they can either be the most fun kinds of fights or the most embarrassing.

On one hand, I absolutely love beating people winning Dittos. Whenever I beat somebody on For Glory mode using one of my mains (usually :4greninja:,:4sonic:, or :4lucina:), I often change to him/her for two reasons:
  1. To see how I stack up against others and how much I'm progressing, I view Dittos as a decent indication of skill.
  2. It's sometimes my way of saying "Let me show you how it's done!" or "You've still got a lot to learn" ,assuming that I win the game. Kinda rude, I know, but it feels sooo good! They can learn something from me anyway, again assuming I win.
  3. Maybe he/she knows something that I don't... Maybe I can learn something from this guy/gal.
To me, winning a ditto match helps hint that I'm starting get better with my particular characters and it just feels so much fun. Nothing feels more satisfying than bodying people with their own characters, nothing. If somebody ragequits after only one game, it makes me feel even better. For instance, just yesterday I beat a Lucina player once with Pac-Man and then started using her too for like 5 more battles and I won. I also used Marth a few times (who is more or less the same character), a character who I barely ever use, and I STILL beat her. I felt the guy/gal was pretty bad and I didn't really learn much from playing against him, but I just felt too good about myself to abandon him and find a better opponent to play with. Eventually after the last 6 I said to myself "Okay, that's enough. It was fun but I ain't gonna get much from this" and left him.

On the other hand, it either feels super embarrassing or seasons me with salt, when I'm the one getting bodied. It shows me the opposite of winning one: I'm not as good as I thought I was, and I kinda feel like a wimp in comparison to that guy. OR if I feel the guy is not that freaking good and I shouldn't have to lost to him/her, I get super salty and I'm raring to challenge him again and get revenge, but sometimes they leave before I can get it and if that happens I say "You haven't seen the last of me (hopefully)!! I'll get you for this!". I felt my opponent isn't very good in general and I should've won, but unfortunately the fact remains is, I didn't. So I reluctantly accept my loss and that I was outplayed, but I tell myself that if I ever see him/her again, I'll be waiting to kick their butts. Whenever I have enough room on my SD Card, I always save replays of my defeated dittos so I can try to learn how to fight back, and maybe incorporate some of their strategies into mine. Pretty self explanatory, nothing more needs to be said.

How about you guys?

Sometimes I switch to the character that my opponent is using, so that I can learn more about that character. The most recent example of this is when I went up against a really good Ike player. I chose Ike in the next round, and incorporated some of their strategies against them. It made for a really interesting match, and it made me use Ike more after that.

I find Shulk dittos really fun, actually. It's interesting to see how my opponents use the Arts differently than I do, and nice to learn how to counter them myself.

If they switch to the character I'm using out of spite and fail at using said person, than just no.

Other than that, I love dittos (if the person knows what they're doing). I Love TLink and Ness dittos. I love to see how others are using the character and seeing if I can incorporate anything they do into my own play style. Maybe I'll learn a thing or two.

Brawler mirror's are fun. Sheik, Ganondorf, Mario, etc... same with the ones with blades. FalconDorfs are a joy. The sword fights are nice duels.

Mega Man dittos suck a big fat juicy.

Well, they're okay. Mega Man is just so unique, that the pace of regular mirror matching changes drastically.

This. Lemons cancelling lemons cancelling metal blades/crash bombs. It becomes about who can mix up lemons with fsmash or aerials, but the constant stalemate... it's the worst.

Ive had a few donkeykong mirrors lately and theyre kinda funny. Both of us keeps trying to land backairs or nairs/slapping against rolls. Usually ends with whoever gets the punch off first, since i almost never win or lose to another dk without getting punched lol.

I view Dittos as a decent indication of skill.
Dittos are actually one of the worst indicators of skill with a character, because it's the only situation where matchup knowledge doesn't apply. It might be a decent test of fundamentals (since you can't play the match to your advantage) but that's about it.

This is why I get so frustrated with the GF boards and their idiotic "champions" system, where people only want to fight other people who use the same character. Mirror matches are literally only one fiftieth of the game.

This. I don't switch to my opponents character to try to show them up, I do it to see what I can learn from them. I like my mains, but I try to make it a principle to be the "master of diversity" among my playgroup, so I try to learn as much about everyone as possible. Having the diversity of the roster just makes the game so much more fun.
I also enjoy dittos because if I win, it means I just might be ahead of the curve, and if I lose, it means I have more to learn. There's never a real loss with dittos.

Little Mac dittos are probably the funnest thing to do in this game, legit.

Unless challenged specifically to that match, I avoid them. They're boring, especially as a Marth main in past games. You have no idea how boring it is playing a Marth ditto until you and your opponent (my brother, in this case) run up to each other, and both immediately stop and counter.

Rosaluma mirror matches are the WORST for me. It's really confusing because both lumas can be the same color and even when they aren't they change so frequently that you can easily get them mixed up. It's also pretty hard fighting without the huge advantage that luma gives you over most other characters (gets you out of grabs, can hit them after you get smashed, etc.). It's just so different playing against another Rosaluma.

Shulk dittos are very interesting, if only cause you pretty much have a MArts battle with your opponent and both of you need to adapt to both changes in a matter of seconds before the stances wear off and you pick something different once more.

I'll let you know if I ever see another Lucario. 300+ games, and I'm yet to see him and a few others.

I also like dittos as an opportunity to expand my knowledge about certain characters. Smash 3DS is my first Smash I am able to play against people who are not my local friends. Therefore I used to know only 'my way' of playing and that of my friends, which is basically the same since most of them copied mine (I happen to be the most experienced player).
So seeing new tactics, combos, tricks and possibilties with characters I usually play is very exciting to me and I try to copy what I like while hoping the opponent thinks the same.

Same here. I get that it ends up being a battle of who uses the strategies and moveset of that character better, but I just don't find it all that fun. You're both equipped to the same limitations and I find it much more fun to play against someone who isn't using the same attacks I use constantly. Just feels like more of a fight that way because my opponent is using something different and I can't expect them to do what I'm going to do, I suppose. A weird way to word it, I think, but hey.
