Oops I did it Again! - Chicago May 19th

Chicago's been pretty uneventful lately, so if there's interest in it, I want to hold a smashfest next weekend Saturday May 19th. THIS IS A TOURNAMENT NOW


It will be at the same place the U of C tourney on April 7th was held at so the address is:

5445 S. Ingleside Ave
Chicago, Il 60615

Equipment we need:
- cubes
- tv's
- vcr's (record matches)

***If you can, please please bring a setup, I'd like to have things running smoother/faster this time around.*** If you are bringing one, let me know so we don't have more cubes than tv's.

Time: Registration ends at 1:00 p.m., if you're not here by that time then you're not playing doubles. If you come early you can either help us set up or play friendlies until we start, please do NOT arrive any earlier than 11:30 as I won't be around until after then. It will run as long as it needs to, but hopefully not too long.


Cost: $5 singles, $10 team ($5 per person in team)

If you bring a tv or a cube, you get $2 off of singles. Only first three people though.

Same rules concerning stages and couterpicks as last time:

Stages:
-Singles-
Neutral Stages (Stages on Random Select): Yoshi's Story, Rainbow Cruise, Fountain of Dreams, Pokemon Stadium, Battlefield, Final Destination, and Dream Land 64

Banned Stages: Icicle Mountain, Termina Bay, Flat Zone, Hyrule Temple, Venom, Brinstar Depths, Fourside, and Yoshi's Island 64.

=Doubles=
Neutral Stages (Stages on Random Select): Yoshi's Story, Rainbow Cruise, Pokemon Stadium, Battlefield, Final Destination, and Dream Land 64

Banned Stages: Icicle Mountain, Fountain of Dreams, Flat Zone, Hyrule Temple, Venom, Mute City, Mushroom Kingdom, Brinstar Depths, Fourside, Big Blue, and Yoshi's Island 64.

- Double elimination

Regular matches will be best 2 out of 3. Finals will be best 3 out of 5.

- Advanced Slob Picks: The loser of the previous round gets to pick the stage, then the winner chooses a character. The loser then chooses a character.

Nice, I can probably borrow my friend's tv, it's small, but the more the merrier. So far we have 4 tv's and 1 cube.

Looks like it'll be more than I expected. I'm going to look for a bigger place to hold the tourney at, so check for updates before you come. If the location is changed, then it won't be very far from the original destination I had put up.

Hmmm...I guess I can.

Is everyone willing to come anyways though if it becomes a tourney? If I do make this a tourney, should it be a doubles and singles tourney, or just singles? Time availability? Price ranges you'd be willing to show up for? Answer at least one of these if you don't want a regular smashfest and instead want a tourney.

I think I want to keep this at a smashfest, unless there's more pressure to make it a tourney.

Good plan, trust me when you have a bunch of people smashing in one place playing just friendlies,, it gets messy, and less fun. Gooo tourney!

I should be able to bring a vcr, but to be perfectly frank, i'm just too lazy to bring a setup, so i'll have to attach it to another one. To the rest of you, don't be like me! Bring your **** setups! No johns! [cept mine]
