FIRST hey we should make like an official ustream smash topic maybe this could be it but you'd have to update everything UP TO YOU

or this could just be the LOVAGE ONLINE SMASH CHANNEL it's good enough to stand on its own

you should do what fire does in his live stream

have a little overlay bar thing at the bottom with names on it, telling us who is playing in the different player slots

Why is live streaming becoming so popular with smash? It seems like it started in brawl, went to melee, and now ssb64? What's so great about live streaming? I mean, it's nice to see other players play and such, but isn't that what video's can be used for? I can list 2 pretty big reasons why video's are superior to streaming.

1) Better quality. The streaming video I've seen on this is really laggy. I can barely watch it.
2) People who upload videos usually upload good matches. Not every match in smash is good and I really don't want to watch a stream full of matches with only a few being good ones.

So, could anyone fill me in what I'm missing?

how about you buy all of us plane tickets BHLMRO.

online is fake smash anyways. so far, this has been matches with me in them, and you know I don't put up online vids anymore. I'll be playing online even if I don't put up vids, so this streaming just lets you watch if you want.

If you want "GOOD" matches they has to be played on the n64. Either that or go watch your egx n00bs on their random youtube channels I don't even know about

I don't think smoke and I will ever beat you guys there ;_;

That's ok though because REAL men choose Zebes as a counterpick.

haha that was a lot of fun guys

streams are fun because you get to watch good matches, and chat with people about fun stuff. also if i feel like it i'll let people talk on their microphones

we're still working out the kinks, i found out how to drastically improve the vid quality without making us lag much.

I haven't been in the 64 scene since around February, and even during that time, I was only active until around October. I hadn't even noticed that you haven't been putting up online matches since I've been gone. I don't look up to you enough to check for any new videos from you, tbh, haha

i dont really care about who is playing, a live stream with a chat is a kind of small substitute for sitting in the actual room and having a good time, laughing at the things that go wrong and get amazed by some crazy combo are much more fun when you actually see it happen with others (so be it its still not as good as actually being there)

You talk about not checking for new vids, yet you say, "I really don't want to watch a stream full of matches with only a few being good ones," like if streaming is somehow taking away from the amount of "good videos" that are available to you, when you don't even know what's out there in the first place. What a fool.

If you expect players to record for you every time they have a smash session, you have unrealistic expectations. This gives you a chance to watch when there wouldn't be any recording going on normally.

I said that I didn't check for new videos by you. Not new videos in general.

Also, no need for names :p

Thats a nice idea, however YT vids are still better because of the quality and can be watched on 24/7

I more or less agree with this. I don't really need to say why, its just true.

Dude, if you need a Soldier/Scout ringer and I'm not scrimming let me know.

These streams, they are online matches with one person ALWAYS being involved or?

I know.... Im poiting out that I'd personally prefer to watch online vids on youtube for some time like before because with stream people have to watch it at a certain hour, and it will most likely be a very bad hour for europe because of the time zone difference.
I didnt talk about console/online.

AIM is XGSuperstar. Steam is the same. s2j has me on Steam, actually.

My Scout is better than my Soldier, but my Soldier isn't terrible. My real problem with Soldier is that I tend to be passive unless told to do something if I'm a pocket, I got to get in and kill more stuff.

Better than most FPSs, actually. Nothing near Quake competitively but it beats out Halo 3 and the modern Call of Duties.

Shame you have to change stuff in the game to make it competitive though.

If you meant funny and not bad though, it sort of is given the art style of the game.

If only they would do a good Tribes or Quake game again. Those 2 games are the epitome of FPS skill!
Quake Live is pretty good, but getting owned by pros who do a quick rocket launcher --> railgun or getting 1 shotted by a shotgun with no chance to win gets kinda old :(

That's why you practice mayn. Game is VERY deep competitively.

If they add strafe jumping to TF2 I will be so pleased.

Successful derail is successful.
