This mode is as follows. You choose to play Random. Then you get the character select screen. You choose your character and color. Then there is also an Item Switch which you can use to turn on and off items of your choosing. After you finalize your character selection you go to Stage Selection. You can choose from Brawl or Melee stages but not from Stage Builder Stages. After the stage selection comes the final loading screen. This is the lame part. Even if there are 4 people ready to go it always takes over a minute to load. And once the game starts it is always a 2 minute timed match. there is no way to change that. So you have to constantly wait between every two minute match. Its really ridiculous. Well, at least we still have Online Friend Mode.

Most gameplay is going to be through friend codes, the only reason I see for using random online at all is if your friends aren't playing, you're tired of playing them, or you want to hopefully own some random noobs, which to be honest isn't very productive in the persuit of getting better at the game.

Every player chooses their own items and stages, and the the system randomly selects one persons settings. Itmes and Stages work independently this way. So maybe you got your Stage but not Item Setting, vice versa or neither.

When your opponents slots dont fill up you sometimes fight against only 1 or 2 opponents. And sometimes CPs fill in for empty slots. But not everytime. Im not sure why it works like that.

I say everyone just adds each other on Smash World Forums, that way, there has to be at least one person online at any time given

Ya can't add anyone now if you don't have Brawl. Your Brawl code comes with the game, and is saved onto your Wii (I think).

For now though, you can add each other's Wii codes and send each other Miis and pictures from your SD cards... which isn't half as cool as Brawl Online w/ Friends

Sounds like a good idea everyone doing that. Mind you I'm not really complaining about the online random play that much, at least it costs nothing extra to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi.

Still sucks though. It's a little TOO simple. It would be great if you could tweak the options even just a little.

Still, that music when samshing Sandbag kicks a**

I guess Sakurai thought default stock matches might make people cry. "Boo-Hoo, I'm the first one to be eliminated. I'm never gonna play a video game ever again, and thus live a joyless life and die alone in a puddle of my own urine and vomit while rats chew my eyes out. ALL Because Brawl Made Me Play Stock Matches!" --- Random battles with People I can't possibly know for a measly two minutes with some items on, on a stupid stage. Oh, and no 1v1. ........ WoW, that sounds so fun I might never do it.

I think many people can agree that 2 minute Time is far too short, considering the wait times in between. Even 3 minute Time would be a huge upgrade. 2 minutes isn't even enough to loop several of the moving stages...

Yeah i recon about 3-5Minutes is sufficient.
That way people can have enough time to try out new combos with different people (and their different style) and it wont go for too long, so people will live.

Hopefully they decide to do that in the near future =]

Well, at least you have all the customizable options for friends mode. Fair enough, they could have done a bit more with the anyone mode, but at least we have online play now for it. Though, if I can get brawl codes I know where I'll be more often.

Wow no 1v1 in anyone mode... thats insanely lame.. argh oh well friends codes seem to be the only way to play this game properly. Everyone will just have to post their friends code on the forums i guess.
