online brawl dilema

im assuming it will be the same as the other ssb where you have to unlock characters and my question is if you dont unlock the characters in the game can you play with them in online mode? same goes for stages?

I believe this has been covered before. Just search "online" in the General Brawl Discussion section.

They might use something like Mario Kart DS where you could only pick the characters you've unlocked online but you could play against people that used characters you haven't unlocked. As for stages, if you're playing multiple matches and it does the whole winner/loser/random player picks the stage, they could only have you pick be able to pick stages you've unlocked but you could play on a stage you haven't yet unlocked if your playing some who has unlocked it and picks it themselves. Or they could incorporate MKDS' stage "nomination" system and each person could only nominate a stage that they've unlocked but could play a stage that you haven't if it gets nominated and wins the draw.
