At first I considered making a series of the blog "My Life as a...", but then I noticed that today was fast approaching, so I decided I'd put that on hold for this.

As sick of dedication threads I found myself at the one point in time that UB was spammed with them, I still decided that one for me was in order considering I've survived a full year of Smashboards.

So, enough exposition, let's get straight to the honors (in no particular order):

PhoenixAlpha: You probably won't venture this far out of the Regional Boards, but nonetheless I want to thank you for trying to help me through a tough college semester, and especially for helping me cope with the playing to win philosophy. I hope we're still friends after what I put you through. >_<

Santi: We really didn't talk much, but you were actually much more receptive of me than I thought you'd be. And I'm glad to see that being in the SBR didn't change that a bit. I hate that I waited too late to ask for your help.

~Good Friends~: I hate leaving people out, so I decided just to mentioned the social group. A huge thanks goes to Peachy for inviting me (I STILL don't think that what I did deserved an invite, but I won't mention it anymore from now on), and for the regulars of the group, thanks for listening to my tales about my life and not kicking me out when it got obviously repetitive. Trust me guys/gals, I really DO have a sense of humor, you just have to drag it out of me.

Dallas, Texas Smash Scene: Well, if I'm still welcomed, I'd really like to give Brawl another shot. I just wish that I could be better than I am. I don't mean to cause any trouble; I'm just trying to figure out competitive Smash.

Proverbs: Between you and PhoenixAlpha, I think the two of you saved me at the end of my spring semester, although we met toward the end.

I'm sure I missed people, but my memory tends to lose things easily, so don't take offense if you think you ought to be mentioned and you weren't. And I just realized I'm not on a first name basis with ANYONE yet.

To the various subcommunities of Smashboards: No one really knows me yet, but I hope that eventually I'll work my way into one or more of those communities. I just gotta figure out how without having Sirlin rob me of my sanity. And if that happens, I have a feeling I'll be as good at Smash as I'm going to get.

Well, that was mildly depressing. Here's hoping I'll be a much less lame 08er next year. =D

Like I told you once before dude, you can play me and I'm always a confidence booster. :p

Of course you're welcome. And the only way you're going to get better is if you play with us and hang out. Dallas is getting new people all the time and they are constantly new to the game too. There's a guy coming to PBT on Saturday that's coming just to watch... Maybe you should do that and then you could play some friendlies with him and stuff. But Dallas has open arms to pretty much everyone. :) Unless you've pissed one of us off anf I'm pretty sure the two smashfests you came to at Dphats you didn't piss anyone off. Haha.

NOW I recognize who you are. Sort of. Actually, I imagine if you said that again I'd recognize you, but without that I'd be lost. Y'know, I think I'll shut up about the fact that I'm horrible with people to start with and I'm being especially terrible right now. Curse my randomly failing memory!

As for the Smashfests... well, as I said before, I'm horrible with people. It's not just remember names and faces and stuff, it's... interacting. I don't know what to say, what to do, anything. The only thing I can think of is "These people know a lot more than I do and so if I say one wrong thing I'll be ripped to shreds faster than that one match I had as Meta Knight." "Just watching" got me in trouble with Infinity at the least, from what I recall. If who I am bothers people that much, I just might be the wrong person for Dallas Smash, despite how badly I'm needing help. I don't even drink or smoke, so that's already putting me out with a few people in the scene. And my nervousness in crowds just further makes things worse.

Like I said, I'd like to give this another shot, but I just wish my personality didn't clash with the entire Dallas Smash scene. Of the two or three times I went to Dphat's Smashfests, all I recall that happened is I showed up, got "*****", and went home. I sorta felt like that it'd just be the same thing over and over again, and then school got tough for me, and so the combination of those two things caused me to just quit showing up. BUT, since school's starting back again in August, hopefully I'll be able to better organize everything to where I can have more time for Smash.
