Welp. That's insightful. I didn't know that. I was assuming Melee would have more less simply because its quite a few years older than Brawl. The decrease in poly because of online gameplay is a good reason why it may be lower.

I personally prefer the Brawl character calls. Melee's sounded so quiet and muffled compared to Brawl's. It would be sort of weird to have two 'different' announcers, also. The actual in-game announcements though, those I could get into. Hearing 'Game!' in Brawl isn't as exciting as 'GAAAAAAME!' from Melee, but, that's just me. Again, those are just some dorky nitpicks that don't impact the game in any way whatsoever.

As for Mario and Luigi's voice (even Link's), please oh please can we not do their Melee ones..? Mario and Luigi were so terribly squeaky, and Luigi didn't even have his own voice.
Screw you their voices were awesome. Hoo hoo hoo! Haha! Wa ha! Eeee haw! Star KO "Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!"

The only real change I've wanted to see in terms of sounds, is the old announcer from Melee and 64. I'd love to turn on P:M and hear the old "SUPER SMAAAAASH BRRRROOOOOOOTHERS!" call again on the title screen. Having the old "Game set!" and "This game's winner is..." calls would be kind of neat.... I haven't been able to find any of that on the Vault, myself. I guess it's just a nitpick out of nostalgia; something that's not really needed at all, something just for flavor.
What if we had new original announcer?

What?! Marios voice was better in melee, in brawl he sounds like if he is trying so hard to do a energic voice but he cant, but again, its not something too serious.

I agree... And I didn't realize how much different Brawl Mario's voice was compared to Melee until I listened to Brawl's sfx by themselves. Mario sounds so horrible in Brawl! Like... each voice clip sounded like a grown person trying to emulate baby sounds with a muffler in their mouth. Sound quality is minimum..."

the Melee textures and voices would look terrible when mixed with Brawl`s art style, I mean if we are going to do that, why not get rid of all the new brawl characters and revert all the Melee vets to there exact movesets and stats that they had in Melee. While we are at it, lets take out the new stages too and replace them with the melee stage textures.

Opinion. I think they sound great. And there are brawlified Melee models as well that look just as good. Look at Roy. It's sarcasm like that that's un-needed. A few of you are being close minded.

you keep mentioning roy and mewtwo, I will have you know that there textures are not just "brawlified melee models", they may of used the melee models as a basis, but if you study them side to side they are very different in detail and art style. I will also have you know that that was sarcasm and not my opinion.

I honestly am the 5% who likes the brawl art style (despite the game being horrible) and while I know that others prefer the melee art style, if they want the melee models, they can download the melee models.

With every post that disagrees with you, you take it like they are being mean to you or making fun of your opinion. There is a difference between disrespecting someones opinion and disagreeing with someones opinion.

No the sarcasm is uneeded though. Just state your opinion and leave it at that. Things like "this isn't Melee" or "why not get rid of all the new brawl characters and revert all the Melee vets to there exact movesets and stats that they had in Melee. While we are at it, lets take out the new stages too and replace them with the melee stage textures." are unnecessary. I don't mind opinions just leave the bull**** out.

Oh, and that being said, I do really like Brawl's art style. I don't think it's muddy or whatever the heck people claim.

The extra detail on the textures is nice, too.

I like smash 4's art direction more than Brawl's, but Brawl's isn't TOO muddy. It's definitely dark compared to Melee, and the problems I have with it are sublte, like eternally angry Mario and the denim overalls just not popping out like the usual vivid blue Mario/Luigi have(Also why does Waluigi get denim but not Wario? They should've stuck his AT model with the black trousers.)

Yeah, you're right about Mario's color scheme. They should've made him colored more like DeDeDe, who I think looks pretty bright:

Also, he appears to be jollier in Smash 4, so that's good.

Another thing to keep in mind- back in 07' when the Wii/PS3/360 were new, people generally wanted more realistic looking graphics. Brawl's art style is a product of its time. I remember back in the day when people wet themselves over Mario's denim texture.

Yah I agree. Sm4sh looks a little brighter and cheerier in general which really works. My main problem with brawl is that the realistic work doesn't work with the cartoony designs. Link looks much better in Sm4sh too.

There are already optional SFX packs to use with the RSBE to make characters sound more like Melee if you like that. Asides from characters having a lack of color, there's nothing wrong with how characters look in Brawl. In fact, I'd say that the models are far better representations of the character that they're supposed to be.

Anyone that wants a character to look identical in appearance to their Melee selves is looking at it with nostalgia goggles on. The characters change in design from year to year, there's no reason to go backwards. Besides that, we can already alter textures on our own time, so why not just do that?

For those of you that like the idea of color, or a Smash4-esque art style, just check out Shun_one and Taiko's threads.
As for the thread in which I am actually commenting, I DO think that there are places Melee models would work (Though I'd prefer they be modeled anew from their Brawl counterparts, with importing etc. when needed). This could best work over the veteran Zelda characters, to give them OoT inspired designs, the StarFox characters, and I know it won't happen, but Melee Marth is still somehow cooler looking than Brawl Marth, I think it's just that rigged hair and armor design.

Theses are suggestions now leave this thread or else :demon:
Phaiyte has a point. Everything you suggested can very well be done by yourself. There's no real reason for the PMBR to do the work for us when these aren't exactly new ideas or working with the new code that they're implementing.
