(tear, sniff) it would of been great to have banjo and kazooie in the game. but what about an AT for them
Microsoft won't allow them in the game whatsoever. If they were in at all, I'm sure they would be playable, and not just an AT. They're waay too good for that. I don't see why Microsoft won't allow it, It would be excellent advertising to hype up the new Banjo-Kazooie game for 360.

Yeah, and yet MGS4 is being advertised on Brawl with their "Love theme."

*sigh* Banjo-Kazooie would've been the most awesome addition. Hell, even Gruntilda could've been interesting, I mean we don't exactly have any heavyweight (most likely) female villains with a possible glide ability (her broom) coupled with her magic powers, considering we're missing a true magic user also. Mumbo + Magic = Win though, he was my absolute favourite character from the franchise. It's a shame, if Rare hadn't departed B-K would've seemed like almost a given.

Bleh, I might end up having to give in one day and buy an Xbox 360 purely just for Banjo-Threeie when it's out.

*sigh* Killer Instinct was my favorite fighter for the longest time... "C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!" Good times...

And Jet Force Gemini... I will forever lament the fact that this game will never get a sequel... That game was Ratchet & Clank before Ratchet & Clank... except cooler...

Just asking: Isn't Rare not considered 3rd party after moving from Nintendo to microsoft? I'm sure someone's mentioned this before, but odds are that one of these characters, most likely banjo(my favorite character from Rare), might fill in for that last spot in the 3rd party roster in Brawl.

As a DK fan I miss rare a lot, the series has plummeted without them =[

Why Rare? Why you bloody b******s.
Rare didn't do anything, Nintendo sold them, they had to leave. It wasn't their choice to leave.

Rare really made some great games, it's a shame them and Nintendo couldn't have worked things out.
You mean Rare and Miyamoto, he always disliked their work from Donkey Kong Country onwards, he did nothing but critisize, sure he often "apologised" but I still dislike that man, he's the reason people disliked DKC and were glad to see Rare leave.

I'm actually buying a 360 just for Banjo threeie lol... I just hope it doesn't suck.
Also get Viva Pinata, it's proof that Rare has returned to their former glory.

I'm going to make it my lifelong goal to buy back Rare from Microsoft.
As long as Shigeru Miyamoto is alive that will never EVER happen.

JINJO!

Rare is second party for Microsoft.

Also Mr Pants is sex, not Hilter. Does anyone remember in Banjo Tooie when Boggy was watching Porn lol.

It's been in decline since DKC3 though, slipping a bit further with DK64. However the games were still at least fun, unlike the travesties that would follow after RARE passed on the mantle... Kinda funny how Nintendo's done a worse job at handling one of it's own series...

DK64 was originally intended to be like the DKC series having the partners and everything but because those mechanics didn't quite work they decided to make it similar to Banjo Kazooie but also keep many DKC elements.
Also Rare's games were still fantastic around that era look at all their N64 games, genious. Diddy Kong Racing is my second favourite racing game of all time (my favourite being MK64 gotta love that Moo Moo Farm :p) and Goldeneye being one of the few FPS games I enjoy. Even on the gamecube Starfox Adventures was fun, not as a starfox game but as a platformer. Donkey Kong Racing also looked really good.
During their XBOX years they did slip a bit with Grabbed by the Ghoulies (fun but not a great XBOX game) and I didn't really like Conker Live and Reloaded as much as BFD. But with the 360 and VP they have made a huge improvement and they are back to the high calibour games that we all know and love from Rare, so I can at least be sure that BK3 will be great.

I was referring to the Rare's handle of the DK series, not their entire career as a Nintendo second-party, numb nuts... Of course I am very aware of their N64 glory days. Blast Corps, James Bond: Golden Eye, and Jet Force Gemini are some of my all-time favorite games. Even their last Nintendo project Star Fox Adventures, despite it's flaws, was still a highly enjoyable experience IMO. There's no denying that Rare still has a hell of a lot of talent at their disposal, but they aren't perfect as Grabbed by the Goulies made us painfully aware...

They weren't slipping with DK at all, DK64 as I explained before was supposed to be more like the originals but the mechanics didn't all pan out and were hard to work with so they made it similar to Banjo Kazooie because the formula worked, and well DK64 allthough not as good as the DKC triligy was MUCH better than ANYTHING that Nintendo has done with the DK series. Plus did you see the trailer for Donkey Kong Racing, that game looked phenominal, also they had two other DK games in the works Cocnut Crackers (now known as It's Mr Pants) and Donkey Kong Pilot (now known as Banjo Pilot). Those two are pretty shabby games but still Rare is a more console company.

I'm not disagreeing with you, and I actually like DK64 - it's just not as good as I had originally hoped. And I do believe that I said something along the lines of Nintendo being unable to properly handle the series since they've returned to developing for it, despite it being one of their own properties - which I think would indicate that I preferred Rare's take on the franchise. Yeah Donkey Konga was pretty fun, but Jungle Beat looked like a complete joke - I never conjured up the will to play that one...

Good times indeed...It was as important to me as Smash is now.

Fulgore would have shredded Sonic.
Ever since the first SSB game, I always thought that Fulgore was missing. He really deserved to be in the game as he was KI's poser boy. If not, then Orchid.
Fulgore would be my main, I can tell you that now lol. I miss my N64 :( I'm going to my friends house later today to play Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing and KI.

I'm going to make it my lifelong goal to buy back Rare from Microsoft.

We'll never get them back with that attitude. We can do it! We have to believe!

It seems that this Miyamoto fellow needs to be "disposed" of.....*hides dagger behind back*

but apart from that, i wanted conker in so bad. he would've been my main....no others..EVER ...conker's bad fur day was the best game I'd ever played. it was so funny and original. but now all hope is lost because "Miyamoto" pushed nintendo to sell them.....(correct me if I'm wrong)......which now only leads to disapoinment in the future..

you fool Miyamoto! how could you do this to us!

Nah he just needs to retire or learn to give constructive criticism and not just say that the game is only good because of it's graphics and it's gameplay is horrible (when in reality it's got more stuff and is more fun that SMW ever was).

I expected better from Miyamoto. But what can we do, except lament his folly.

But do not fear Rare fans, I've started selling everything I own to try and buy Rare back. The day will come....

The main characters suggested already have threads. And lets face it, other than Viva Piniata they haven't done anything really great since they left. Even when they were still with Nintendo they were starting to suck. SFA anyone? (Not as bad as Grabbed by the Ghoolies, but I disgress)
