If SSBB indeed has a robust, cinematic, and story-filled 1-player mode, what storyline do you think there should be?

Different ones for different characters?

Common one for them all?

Make descisions that lead to a unique final battle?

Any other ideas?

Tired of me asking questions? (Don't answer that one)

PS: I searched and didn't find anything like this so to those mod's out there DON'T CLOSE THIS:mad:

idk...i guess there could be a story where everyone plays a different story arc but everyone (or mostly everyone) crosses paths at some point and they all get to the same conclusion (for the most part)

or maybe there is just one huge story (unlocked after you unlock all characters) where you end up playing as all the characters at least once and based on your choices you will play as certain characters more. the final character you will use will depend on your choices also.

but remember...this is brawl. it's all about just mindless fun.

...well until you start trying to figure out the advanced techniques...

It could be a sidscrolling 2D platformer, where you pick a character at the start, and the story is slightly different for each char, and you meet up with other smash chars, on your journey for maybe 1 or 2 levels (possible co-op period). Boss battles could be against other smash chars, like mario would have to fight bowser, or link-Ganondorf/Zant. These moments where you fight against/along side other chars would happen on that char's story line too. It would take a while to program, but it would be cool, no?

None of your business.
I think a story mode would ruin the gameplay. Smash isn't about making stories or having cut-scenes. It is about Nintendo's characters coming together to knock the sh*t out of each other.

That would be sweet. Maybe have different bosses for each character ex. Mario-Bowser, Link-Ganon, Kirby-Metaknight etc.

The concept of a story mode is really shaky to me. I think it would fit into that robust 1 player mode we were promised.

Then again, no matter how many times I think it over in my head, I keep coming to the same conclusion that it'll end up like some goofy Kingdom Hearts-esque thing that doesn't work at all.

I think it would be pretty interesting but how would they relate to each other with a story when they are from different games? It could be like DoA's story mode but I don't know if that would work for smash. Like where you get a cutscene before every match and whoever you are playing/fighting could have different lines and story paths. It could have alot of humor with abit of drama.

Story examples: Mario trying to save Peach from Bowser, Link trying to defeat Ganon for all of Hyrule, Samus hunting down bountyheads, Snake on a secret mission, Wario trying to finish those good for nothing plumbers once and for all, Kirby trying to get back to dreamland, Pikachu is in some pokemon tournament gone wrong with new unheard of pokemon like Snake... lol, Fox looking for his team star fox, ect.

i was thinking about this and how about that .....
ther is 1 big trophy 4 the winner and in that trophy for decoration is a item that the characters need like
a piece of the triforce for the zelda team or a star for mario or sum acient power that must be secured for samus or it could just be expensive for wario.

so ther is a reason for every character to get the trophy and they will stop at noting to get it.

Master Hand mind controls all of the characters you're not playing as & your character has to save the Nintendo universe.

Nothing too complicated & doesn't involve a bloody tournament.

They all start in their own respective universes, but break through the fourth wall to eventually fight the presence that has been controlling their worlds from afar, (you, the player) fighting with each other in the confusion. This game has no fourth wall, why even make the plotline internally consistent?

This actually came to mind once. What if say you were playing as link, and Ganondorf gained the power to travel to other realms (Mushroom kingdom, Dreamland, Snake's HQ, etc) and you had to travel through time and space to stop him while fighting the people who think your trying to destroy their realm.

I was thinking more along the lines of Hyrule starts to devolve into polygons and glitch out like no ones business, so all the playable Zelda characters would investigate, and run into other characters on the way until they fight the Master Hands with a Mii head, maybe formin alliances and such.

And no one would talk, it' be all body language.

Exactly what it should be!!!!!!! Except each character should think it's his/her traditional enemy and be trying to destroy the traditional enemy up untill the end after he/she is defeated, and still weird stuff is happening, but right then master Mii shows up!! you get to choose which mii is used to maintain that, "your hand is master hand" philosophy

Good idea, like winning story mode (which is basically the same for all) unlocks like an alternative costume,
