It's kinda neat how Marth is in the 3DS box art. Guess he'll be a main stay for the FE series. Not that I'm complaining, of course.

I find it interesting that they added Link to the front, I suppose they wanted the red background and Mario didn't look as good as other characters. Although Link looks terrific with that background. I like the background color and line design, my only complaint is that it still looks so simple.

Furthest from the front aint good enough from you? Yoshi has had his own games before at least.

"Smash Bros. for 3DS" and "Smash Bros. for Wii U" lack identity. They're so generic and unimaginative. I was sincerely hoping that they would officially reveal the real names of the new Smash Bros. games at E3, but that didn't happen.

I've never liked Nintendo's affinity for naming their games after their consoles. SNES had "Super" games, N64 had "64" slapped onto the end of everything, Wii and DS were notorious for the same thing-- really, the Gamecube was the only generation that got creative titles for all their mainstays.

I agree, I'm still hoping they'll release a name sometime before Japan gets it. It's awkward to talk about when I use terms like Melee, PM, Brawl, and uh....3DS I mean Smash 3DS or is it 4? Please Nintendo, give this game a name.

The box actually looks really good to me. I guess Ike would've been a nice addition since he looks awesome now. I am a little surprised the major 3rd party guys aren't there (Sonic and Megaman.)

Also, I find it curious that none of the non-Nintendo properties have ever made it to a console cover. I assume it's due to the threat of copyrights in the future. How kickass would a cover featuring Mario, Sonic, Megaman and Pac-Man be?

In my mind Pit is a strong representation of Brawl, whether or not if he was deemed good competitively in Brawl he still feels like an integrated character in Smash Bros franchise since Brawl. I can understand that. Even still...

You have the mainstays of Nintendo products that are easily the most marketable: Mario, Link, DK, Pikachu, Samus, and Kirby. Then you have Peach to fill out the male-to-female ratio (and she's on the cover of pretty much every since Mario Party/Sports/Kart game). Then you have two newcomers. Then you have....... Pit. I don't hate Pit or anything, I just question the legitimacy of him taking up a spot on the cover that could be better used for Little Mac, Rosalina, Fox, Charizard or even a Mii.

Then again, maybe they're using Smash as a way of promoting him, if they have another Kid Icarus game in the works.

Also, while Pit and Villager are two of my favorite characters, I think the ommission of Fox is pretty dissapointing. He should have found his way in over either of those two on at least one cover.

I'm still calling it Smash Through, since Through works as a combination of Three and U, at least in my mind.

Rosalina and Luma being a starter bothers me... I think it's because she's been an unlockable in every single game she's been playable so far. (And a DLC for world tour)

Rosalina has appeared as playable in Mario Kart 7 and Mario Golf: World Tour, and as an NPC in Mario Party: Island Tour. I think she might have looked better on the Wii U cover though, aesthetically and thematically.

I do wish the third parties were on the front covers though.

Sometimes I forget he's even been revealed since the start, we never see him. Don't know why really. I think he could be a good replacement for Pit on the 3DS version.

Okay, so based off assumptions of the boxart and Brawl's starting lineup, it seems to me like we'll have twenty something starters when we boot up Sm4sh on either the 3DS or Wii U! Anywhom, this is my speculation as to WHO will be part of starting cast in this game.

Starters will be as follows. Questions indicate its unconfirmed if said character is starter or not and its very probable that the guest fighters will be unlockable for some reason.
