Sounds cool. Arizona needs more cool LAN centers and places to play console games.

Btw, HD TV's? Don't you get deinterlacing lag with Melee?

Yes, but the lag isn't that bad. Besides, we can't play just one game the rest of our lives. :)

i disagree
Agreed, competitive smash is where it is at. You should get some normal TV's. Looks aren't everything.

EDIT: Anyone here play Starfox 64? It is a pretty fun break from Smash, especially with VC ( I don't have a Wii but Matty (Doctor W) does) and battle royal in that can get pretty competitive :).

i disagree aswell, i played in the pnt smash tournament in tucson at foothills mall and they also had hd tvs, the lag was terrible, so terrible that I could not even play any technical characters at all because of it. I was forced to play just marth and forward smash the entire tournament lol, nevertheless i still won but I was pretty disappointed in how the tournament was setup and the tvs :[

Wow. Yes, I have been playing it. I just whipped it out on the N64 a couple of days ago, and am thinking about going for HS runs. VC Starfox is pretty bad, I think. All the lag of N64 is eliminated, so boss cut scenes are weird. So I've heard.

The epicness of going through the tunnel to fight Andross is still there but yeah, I haven't had my 64 copy forever :(. It would be hypothetically of course one of two roms for 64 I play if I had an emulator, which it is still awesome on emulator with a 360 controller, that is if I was hypothetically playing it on Rom ;).

N64 for the win. I love StarFox 64, my favorite game for the system. I'm not as good as I thought I was when I turned it on for the first time a couple months ago 0.o Shiv we need to smash, I haven't seen you in ages.

Chuk,

In December, when we get Brawl, looks will be everything. Especially since we'll run a tournament the week Brawl comes out.

Look at my signature.

By the way, even when brawl comes out, the Wii still only outputs in 480p at best. Unless your TV's have a native resolution of 480i or p, you'll get deinterlacing lag or upscaling lag, or both. In addition to that, plasma's just lag normally.

Trust me, nobody will play on a laggy TV. It ruins your game. Can't tell you how many times I've seen a tournament with a beautiful, huge, HDTV sitting unused in the corner as a smash tournament goes on.

What TV's DO you have at the store?

We have the Westinghouse 37W3 monitors. I had a Gamecube hooked up for days with many peoiple playing, and no one has yet to complain about lag. I don't even see it. Most people who signed up already tried it on these TVs and no mention of lag. I've even asked for people to point it out when they see it. Some of these play Smash a lot.

I'm no expert at this but if there is lag, it's hardly noticible.

Yea, I looked it up. The TV has a native resolution of 1080p, which means you'll get upscaling lag and (unless you have component cables) deinterlacing lag. All together it'll add up to something like a delay of maybe a tenth of a second. Guess I'll just not play fox or falco. :) But I'll still come down for the rourney tomorrow.

Later

EDIT: After having played on the TV's, they do in fact lag horribly. Somewhere around 6-8 frames probably.
