Kill Roy: Volume 1
An Indiana Fall Circuit Event

General Information
Kill Roy is a Melee/Smash 4 tournament held by IU Bloomington Smash. It will be the 4th event of the Indiana Fall Circuit. This event requires pre-registration; no sign-ups at the door, no death pools. Pre-registration closes November 4th and pools will be posted the following day.

The closest free parking lot is east across Union Street. Cedar Hall, the location of the venue, is marked on the map as well.

Any vehicle may park in a CH or ST zone all day Saturday, with or without a permit (unless otherwise posted). Also, all parking garages on campus are free all day Saturday with or without a permit (unless otherwise posted).

Venue Fee Discount
You will get $5 off your Venue Fee for each complete set up you bring. However, you must stay till the end to get your $5 refunded. Please be prepared to pay the full venue fee initially.

Full Melee set up = GCN/Wii + Melee disc/20XX + CRT
Full Smash 4 set up = HDTV + Wii U + Smash 4 + GCN controller adapter (preferably Nintendo instead of Mayflash)

Schedule of Events (EST)
9 AM: Venue opens
10:15 AM: Melee/Smash 4 Doubles check-in closes
10:30 AM: Melee/Smash 4 Doubles begins
12:45 PM: Melee/Smash Wave A check-in closes
1 PM: Melee/Smash 4 Wave A pools begin
2:15 PM: Melee/Smash Wave B check-in closes
2:30 PM: Melee/Smash 4 Wave B pools begin
4 PM - 5 PM: Dinner block
5 PM: Melee/Smash 4 Singles brackets begin
9 PM: Venue closes

All times are approximations & subject to change. Players will be DQ'd if they do not show up within 10 minutes of their match being called; regardless of if the player is playing in both Melee/Smash 4. However, players will not be DQ'd during the dinner block.

Food
Unfortunately, there is no food on site. However, there are a few places within walking distance (e.g., Jimmy John's, Subway, Pizza X, Fortune Cookies). All other places are within 5 minutes driving. Finally, Redbull will be providing free drinks.

Melee/Smash 4 Singles will be Top 8
1st: 50%
2nd: 20%
3rd: 10%
4th: 8%
5th: 4%
7th: 2%

Melee/Smash 4 Doubles will be Top 4
1st: 55%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 10%
4th: 5%

Rule Sets
General Rules
- 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit
- No Items
- Pause Disabled
- If Pause is left on, any player who pauses mid-match must forfeit their current stock (even if accidental)
- Friendly Fire Enabled
- Sets will be Best of 3
- All Top 8 matches will be Best of 5
- Wobbling is legal (past 300% is considered stalling)
- Freezing the game and infinite stalls are banned
- Master Hand is banned
- If a match goes to time, the winner is decided by highest stock count, then lowest percent. If stocks and percent are tied exactly, a 1 stock, 3 Minute rematch will be played on the same stage
- If Port Priority is disputed, players may play Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine who gets it

- Best of 3 sets are allowed 1 stage ban
- Best of 5 sets are not allowed to ban stages
- Dave's Stupid Rule (players are not allowed to play on a stage they have already won on in the set, unless mutually agreed upon)
- Sets are played out in the following manner:
1. Players choose characters (double blind picks may be called for, please ask a TO if you need one)
2. Players strike stages from the starter list (P1 P2 P2 P1) (use Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine first strike)
3. Players play out the match
4. The winner of the match bans 1 stage (if Best of 3)
5. The loser of the match picks a stage
6. The winner may choose a different character
7. The loser may choose a different character
8. Rinse and repeat until a winner is decided

- No Items
- Wireless controllers are banned (due to time issues they cause)
- Customs are banned
- Mii Fighters are banned
- G&W/Sheik bucket combos in doubles are banned (The combination of G&W/Sheik themselves is not banned, however intentional use & abuse of the bucket w/ Sheik’s Up B and Grenades is banned)
- Suicide moves are always won by the initiating player
- Pause Disabled

- All wireless controllers are banned for Smash 4/Melee.

- Check-in closes 15 minutes prior to the start of each event. No players will be entered after that, regardless of pre-registration. No exceptions.
