The rooms are going to be at the Courtyard Frederick.
Room 1 - pockyD's room (650) 918-9143
There will be 2 Queen beds and one rollaway.
Room 2 - Tafokints's room (408) 315-2752
There will be 1 King bed, one couch, and one rollaway.
There will be some number of free breakfast buffets.
There will be free internet.
There will not be a provided smash-ready TV. I'll work with plank to see what I can get.
People can choose rooms when we get there and even change nightly if you want. When you first arrive on Friday, give one of us a call. I'll be getting in Thursday night, although I'm not sure when I'll actually be arriving at the hotel on Friday. Tafokints will be getting in at 7 PM on Friday.
The cost is ~800 total.
The way we will determine the final cost...
Let N be the number of people in both rooms combined
The cost per person will be floor(800 / N) - that is to say, divided equally among everyone in both rooms, then rounded down.
I will keep the current actual number at the top of this post in big bright text
Rules and Stuff
1) If you decide you want in on it, you're committed. If you find somewhere else to stay, you are still putting in for your share of the room unless you find someone to take your place, so don't call a spot unless you're sure you want it.
2) I have the hotel booked for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights. If you aren't staying all those nights, say so in advance or else rule 1 will be applied and I will charge you.
3) I'm accountable for the room, so I'm going to ask that we keep it relatively quiet, ESPECIALLY if we are going to pack more than 6 people in there. Since mad smashers are going to be at the hotel, there will be plenty of other rooms for partying. There will be no 'real' drugs and only civilized drinking, if any at all. I don't want a bunch of random dudes in there if we already have 8-10 people staying in there.
4) I've been told the TVs are LCD screens, so oh well. I'm going to try to get plank to let us borrow a venue TV or two for the nights, but no promises
5) There will be no "calling" of the beds; the first people to go to sleep get the beds. It's stupid for someone to call a bed, then go out and come back at 4 am while other people are stuck sleeping on the floor in a room with the empty bed. The room is first and foremost going to be for sleeping.
6) Everyone going to breakfast is going to split the cost if we don't have enough "free" breakfasts for everyone. That is to say, if we get 6 free breakfasts and 7 people want to go, all 7 will put in money for the last person's breakfast.
7) Everybody must shower at least once every two days you're in there. I'm personally going to shower every day even if i have to get up at 6 am or whatever, but I know it's unreasonable to expect everyone to wait in line with 10 other people to hop in the shower. On the other hand, nobody wants to be crammed in a room with people who smell terrible, so have some ****ing respect.
8) Bring sleeping bags unless you're committed to sleeping early enough to get the bed every night (and willing to forgo blankets if you aren't so fortunate to claim it in time).
9) Bring pillows and towels if you feel you need them. Obviously the hotel will be providing quite a few, but I don't want to request extras if we are beyond capacity in the room. I'm not looking for trouble, and bringing a towel from home is some simple **** that we can do to avoid drawing any attention
10) Prepare to dress warm; I'm not certain of how good the heat is going to be or anything... but you're going to want warm clothes for being outside on the EC anyway.
11) Don't assume I'm handling your transportation for you.
12) This is not limited to NorCal. It is, however, limited to people who don't suck ***. I reserve the right to turn you away, although there is literally nobody in the front of my mind that I would deny that I can think of (from the WC anyway). If anybody has an issue with someone else, I will side with the person I like the most and boot the other guy. I won't tell the other guy who had the problem with them. Sucks for you.
13) Kirby is banned, at least in my room

I'm starting the list now. Anyone who already posted asking for a spot should do it again, since there's no way I can know if you've found housing in the meantime or that these rules are acceptable to you. I'm not going to cap this list and instead just keep it as a list of people that need housing... if the count exceeds what I feel comfortable with (something like 20-25), I will try and get someone to get a third room.
There is no semblance of priority; it's assumed that all rooms will be equals, so anyone can stay with who they like, etc. People in both rooms will share the cost of both rooms
I'm just going to keep names in alphabetical order to reinforce that
