(Noob Question) Removing or stretching the black flash on loading a stage

Like the title says, I'd like to know if there's a way to remove or stretch the black flash when you select a stage on the SSS (With the 16:9 code, the flash only covers a 4:3 area so it doesn' cover the entire screen)
