Hey guys. I just signed up for this thing today. My goal is to be able to play Smash on my comp with Project64 with 2 controllers. I have the Mayflash N64 adapter and 2 aftermarket controlllers. When i tried to set up the controller settings, the second player couldn't dash or smash hit. I tried to save and load the first player controller settings to the second player, but that still did not work. Please help!

I think the second plug-in thingy on that just sucks. Sorry. We say it's a "good adapter" because most of us use it for playing online, and we only need to use one of the plugins.

I tried the controllers with each plugin and switched the USB options so I can troubleshoot each controller. I think the problem is controller button settings.

I'm not trying to play online with them (although maybe in the near future). Right now, I'm just trying to get the 2nd player settings to be able to smash hit and quick dash. Where can I see the USB Controller Setup? Is it under the Project64 Configure Controller Plugin? If that's what you're talking about. I played around with all of that.

Has anyone ever gotten both of the mayflash plugins to work simultaneously? 'Cause I'm pretty sure it just doesn't work.

If the Mayflash can't work simultaneously, then what's the point of having 2 slots?
How do I configure the gamepad through control panel? And how likely is it that that's the problem?

It's just poorly made. An error in the design.

I might be wrong, but that's what I've heard a couple of times and experienced personally.

I haven't heard any indication that only one of the ports in the mayflash adapter works. I believe battlecow is mistaken.

Make sure that both controllers are configured properly. Configuring it in windows depends on your operating system. Google should be of help here.

I have not been able to get port two of my Mayflash to work. I was also under the impression that it was a common problem.

Reading through Amazon reviews I see at least two that say port two didn't work for them.

Have you checked the actual controller? Like its analogue stick?

Yeah, I checked the controller. Both ports work and both controllers work. The only problem is that the controller can't smash hit or dash or block roll. So basically, the character moves really slow. Lol. I don't know how to configure the controller. Can someone send me a quickguide link of some sort? That would be greatly appreciated. Also, can the problem be the actual controller since it's an aftermarket Chinamade product?

Both of the ports on mine work, and I've played numerous games with a friend (oh, Forsaken64), and I'm pretty sure I didn't have to calibrate the second controller. I calibrated the first, because I wanted it to be perfect when playing online, but it didn't occur to me to calibrate the second, and it seems to work fine anyway.

I'm also using official N64 controllers. I think the box for the adapter specifically says third-party controllers may not be supported. This support could very well differ between ports, and it makes sense that they'd full-*** the first port and half-*** the second.

With perfect calibration and settings:

My 1st port:
- doesn't perfectly resemble n64 sensitivity, no matter what settings you use

My 2nd port:
- c buttons don't work
- very low sensitivity even at max settings

my controllers might be third party though, I have no clue since I just bought them off some random guy

Does it say Nintendo(R) on the front?

Another way to tell is to open 'em up and look at the control board. If it looks like a robot vomited all over the place, then they're probably 3rd party.

Yeah it says nintendo, I use the see through purple ones so I can see the board. It just looks like a very basic control board with everything where it should be I guess. Maybe it is nintendo >_>

That, too, and you have to be damn ballsy to put a registered trademark on your product that isn't registered to you.

And Nintendo just has quality hardware (except for the control stick LOL but hey, in their defense, they were one of the first to develop a control stick). You can usually tell if it's legit.
