Today the crack launcher item was announced on www.smashbros.com. The article briefly explains what it does and how you use it. Towards the end of the article is says "You can also aim the launcher at different angles by tilting the Control Stick up or down." Obviously the Wii remote has no control stick. I do realize you could just point and aim with the Wii remote. But that whould be lame. I think this is a small clue that has went unoticed.

I don't think that quite proves that you don't use the Wiimote - for a game like this, you would undoubtedly use the Nunchuk if you were using the Wiimote.

Hmmm?
I was under the impression that the Control Stick was the stick that... controlled your character...

A button, B button, C-stick, D-pad... right?

Edit: I'm almost conpletely certain they mean the regular old analog stick. You aim most forward A attacks now with that stick, so why not weapons?

In Melee you use 2 control sticks.... one to move your character, one for smash attacks.
If they take away the C-stick that whould be a bit of down-grade. Not a big deal, but the game is supposed to be huge and surpass Melee in every way.

Guys, before you flame him to death, and I HATE TO AGREE WITH HIM, but If if you read it, it says you can run, move, and jump while shooting it.Also, titlt the Control Stick to aim it.

Now if its for the WiiMote, they're hiding something. Unless you can't jump by presses up on the Control Stick, you wont be able to move. Cause your not gonna move with the Control Stick. To make it simple. A math Equation.

You can move using the Control Stick while shooting.
You can tilt the gun using the Control Stick while shooting.

One Control Stick... Hmm.

But I realyl want it to use the WiiMote, I'd hate it if it only used the GameCube controller, then its just a Hyped Up Melee, not a completely different game.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have no problem moving the CONTROL STICK (not the C-Stick) up without anything happening in Melee. It's when you tap up that you jump. Same thing as SSB. If you tilt up, you don't jump.

I never said I have a problem, but if you got to tounaments, all you hear is -click click click click click- from the controllers, they don't tap it, they.. like break it.

That doesn't mean they don't tilt. Everytime I watch a video from a tournament I see F-Tilt and U-Tilt being done all the time.

Let's just end this now...

The Wiimote has a control stick in the form of the nunchuck attachment.

The Wiimote will be used in one way or another in the game. But there is nothing revealed yet as to how it's going to be used.

Uhhh.... OK you got me there! Good one!

Anyway, you can control the trajectory Pit fires his arrow. I don't think you need a separate stick to control this trajectory. Just like Samus' homing missile. So why would you need a separate stick to change the angle that you're pointing this big canon?

You're assuming you can aim while moving. They never said anything about that.

I never said that, I said that you can jump and move while shooting, so you can probably tilt it while moving too, other wise it really wouldn't feel as smooth.

Exactly!

You can walk around and jump while holding the launcher.

You can also aim the launcher at different angles by tilting the Control Stick up or down.

Right, your assuming you can aim while moving, just because you think it woudn't feel as smooth. There's really no point of moving and aiming at the same time anyway, especially with the speed of the game.

actually, it just says that you can shoot rapid-shooting items like the super scope while moving, I don't think that this is the sort of thing that fires as rapidly as the control stick, and it looks pretty unwieldy in the screenshot, so we don't really know if we can move while shooting the crack shooter. oh, and btw Sariku Uchiha, ur a n00b so don't talk like you hate n00bs and all that. It just makes you look bad.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Look at this screenshot:

It looks like the recoil is almost about to make Mario fall to the floor.

My guess is the reason you can change the angle on this is because the launcher acts like a mortar, so the projectile moves in a curve, like when Yoshi throws his eggs.

You have a good point but if your wrong:

The only way I can see some one aiming with the control stick while moving is if they had some other way of moving.(Like tilting the wiimote left and right to move and tilting the control stick to aim.)

I hope gamecube controller is used though.

ImDa: Or you could hold Top-Left on the stick to aim up and walk forward.

It doesn't proove or deny anything about the control scheme.
