No way to set default colors?

I remember in Smash 4 that the game always remembered what color you picked for each character the last time to played it, and would always default to that color again.

I haven't found any option for that in Ultimate. Is it still doable? Or do I have to cycle through the colors every single time I pick a character?

I don't think it is doable. I tried searching for it and did not find anything.

I'm pretty sure you mean the 3ds version as the Wii U never did that. And no it's not possible in Ultimate.

And yes, I did mean the 3DS version. Didn't realize the Wii U version didn't have that feature.
