No More 3rd Parties

There shouldn't need to be any more 3rd parties and there doesn't need to be. Snake and Sonic are plenty. Snake got in because Kojima requested it and Sonic got in because... Well, everyone freaking wanted him.

I just think having three 3rd parties is just pushing it. Snake and Sonic are iconic enough to be welcomed, and since Mega Man is pretty much deconfirmed, there doesn't need to be any more. Hell, I think even Mega Man was pushing it.

Mind you that this game is supposed to be Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the 3rd installation of a series about Nintendo characters clashing in a fight. It's not Nintendo Vs. Sega Vs. Konami Vs. [insert another 3rd party company]. There's a reason why it isn't called that. Because Brawl having 3rd parties is a special exception. It all became this way due to circumstances. We don't even know if there are going to be 3rd parties in the next one. I don't want any more 3rd parties because they don't need to be in Brawl.

Yeah... saying that three third party characters are too many in smash is like say that Twilight Princess Ocarina of Time isn't the best Zelda ever made.

Okay, I seriously do think that TP was better then OoT.

You guys obsessed with 3rd parties fail much harder than this guy. Maybe one more...but people pushing 5+ need to get their heads examined.

Not I. Denying obviously-worthy gaming icons entry to the series just because they're not owned by Nintendo just holds the series back. Quite frankly, I think the bigger-name third party characters (see: Sonic, Mega Man) should have included from the first game if it were possible - and given we know both Snake and Sonic were only turned down for Melee because of time constraints, I'm guessing my opinion isn't exactly that far from that of the developers. So long as the characters are qualified to be celebrated in this way, I say the more the merrier, whoever owns the characters.

Let me start by saying that I would only like classic in and wouldn't care if he was confirmed as some other crappy series (I respect X, but it just isn't worthy enough), but you think Snake is more iconic than Mega Man? That is a clearly biased opinion. Snake was a definate WTF character, especially since he is third party. And saying everyone wanted Sonic is just plain arrogant. I wish Sonic WASN'T in the game just so his fantards wouldn't be so arrogant and greedy about having more Sonic reps. Arguing about the podcast is pointless. People saying he is deconfirmed just want him out of the picture and people supporting him are his fans. I'm almost suprised that we can't just wait until the Japanese release to find out.

if megaman is out the next logical choice is bomberman yay!
and this is logical... how?

Really, why do people want Bomberman? He's not a very good character... can't do much other then throw bombs...

and don't say a thing a Sonic and spinning, there is a lot more that you can do with spinning then with bombs.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Besides, the third parties characters only make up a very small percentage of the playable characters so I don't see what the big deal is...

I dont agree i think there a good addition, but to have too many is pushing it and negates the privelage of having 3rd party characters. 2 to 3 is a good number but to go to 5 is a little much unless they all fit on the game well, like bomberman, banjo kazooie, and megaman, these are just characters that are pretty much blood brothers too nintendo and fit in like they are nintendo characters because theyre origin is from nintendo. But the ones that dont fit in with nintendo shouldnt be in.

If a character I like gets in the game, I don't care.

And the only character I didn't like is an assist trophy.

................. *crickets chirp*

The more the merrier dude. So long as the character's had an impact with Nintendo's history in some way, they qualify in my books.

I like 3rd parties, they're right after 2nd and right before 4th.

If theres no 3rd party then you have to stop after that...

I don't think there will be any more if not at least one more third party character.

I thought there was only one more slot for a third party character.
But yeh...I'm all for more characters...especially Bomberman.

Geno is technically third party but he would fit the old smash criteria better than sonic and snake.

the final third party slot goes to

*drum Roll*
.......
Bomberman OMFG YAY
Out of Megaman, Pac-man and Megaman, I prefer Bomberman.

I like Megaman and Pac-man. I show my support for them but the Bomberman games were just, ugh, so much fun. In my opinion, the Bomberman games were 10 times better than the Pac-man or Megaman games. It's just that, if there was a third party spot, I'd so give it to Bomberman but I have a strong feeling there will be 4 - 5.

Megaman is an icon world wide.

Namco has a great relationship with Nintendo. I can see them getting a rep. I suspect Pac-man.

Hudson Soft... I am un aware about Hudson Soft's relationship with Nintendo but Hudson Soft does make some Mario spin off games. Like; Mario Party. All I know is that Bomberman has a big fan support. I'd rather have Bomberman out of every third party character wanted (excluding Geno).

Not that it matters much: Saqure-Enix is currently giving Nintendo the cold shoulder, and just won't talk, even now.

Megaman is as deconfirmed as Sonic was when Mr. Sega said that "it isn't on the cards at the moment", where have you been the last 20 years? game developers always lie. Megaman is not deconfirmed until the game comes out.

The podcast argument is incredibly stupid, what do you expect? that his creator leaks the fact that Megaman is a playable character when nintendo has been able to keep the roster a secret?

While I too would have more characters, it's sorta true. Now one more 3rd party would NOT be pushing it, but 3 to 4 more would be too much. While I don't have anything against 3rd parties (heck, I was thrilled Snake was in and I haven't even played MGS!), but too much is too much. We can all argue what "too much" would be, but I personally think there should be a limit. I'm all about diversity, and I know this is kind of like advertising which makes Nintendo and all the other companies more popular. People who never have touched a Nintendo game might get one now since Snake and Sonic are in, that's the beauty of it.

I also know there are 3rd parties that are wanted by the fans such as Geno, he might or might not be in for all we know. But this game just is Nintendo fanservice, I don't say they should absolutely stick to the formula, and I would like more characters, but there should be a 3rs party limit.
