I don't know why so many people are complaining about Brawl. I always felt WD is similar to snaking in Mario Karts, it twisted the game away from the way it supposed to play. So not a lot of lost love for me there.
More emphasis on the usefulness of DI is great. B/c at higher level, at least for me, DI is one of the most important skill difference among players. Ken made a killing on his exceptional DI.
L-cancel is apparently out. Well, since the lag is smaller, in turn makes the game more accessible to everyone, I can take that.
What impress me the most is the new air dodging system. It makes air battle more intense and varied. Plus the end of phantom air dodging death, b/c apparently you can air dodging to the edge even face away. You don't need me to remind you how many time you have dead b/c a stupid miss air dodge at the edge.
So I am cool and happy for the many changes and improvement that we have learned so far from Brawl.

What about you? Discuss.

The only thing I can see being a step backward is the fact that people who played the demo have said that Brawl is much slower.....and smash attacks are slow as well.....

More n00b friendly? Yes.....Advanced player friendly? I think not

i dont like the fact that people say it seems slower. one of the best parts of the game was its lightning speed. reguardless, whole new game, whole new ballgame. I'm glad its something new to play fighting style wise, not just melee with new characters/items.

My friends are buzzing about the prospect that Bowser may finally rising in power and taking over in Brawl. Anyone want to contribute as exactly what Bowser's improvements are? His special moves are still the same in principle from what I have saw so far. Was only the rumored "slower" game pace kept Bowser on top of the competition?

Seems like Bowser is huge, heavy has a long range and isn't to slow. Really all the things he should off been in Melee.

I'm personally glad their slowing down the pace a little. I liked both Melee and N64 smash equally.

Really I'm going to have a blast playing through Brawl, especially online... I know it will be different from Melee but smash is smash and Brawl should own.

I for one am SO happy that WD has been taken out. Why keep a BROKEN glitch in the game that alters the characters value so drastically. The game can still be played competitively, except now the CHEATING is gone.

I'm not happy its gone because I can't do it; quite the opposite. I can do it very well. I have taught others to do it very well. But it is a glitch and I'm glad it's gone.

You guys have to check out the Link vs. Ike video in the E for all video impression thread. Link's FS is just pure ownage. I love how all the FS strings effortlessly along your current fighting momentums, it doesn't seem to take you out of your fight at all. They came so fast and furious!!!

Brawl seems to be a lot more like 64 smash. Which in my opinion, my friends opinions, and my cousins opinions was a much better game than Melee.

Snaking is not even close to wavedash. That is part of the failure, and who the hell gives a flying fornication what the developer intends? That is another failure. Anyways, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to twist the physics engine in this game to make you all wish that wavedashing was back and Brawl was Melee 2.0.

I am one of those people who would learn everything about a game, but in the same time, wishing to approach it as it was intended to be played. I embrace both sides, nothing wrong with that.
For example, I can dominate a race with snaking, but if I realized that my opponents didn't learn how to snake I will drop back and finish the race without the help of snaking.

@NES N00b:
I'd rather Brawl be a 64 2.0 than a Melee 2.0.

you couldn't change my opinion for teh world.

Brawl is not SSB64 v2.0. It is just Brawl. It got things from both 64 and Melee and got some new stuff too. Its all new. NIKKAH!
