Speed penalties on steel weapons.
Why do they exist.
-3 follow-up for an additional 3 might. Not really noticeable. On the faster units, more damage through doubling. For the slower units who have no chance of doubling, that's just more damage in general.
Also, wouldn't an easy 9 MT unbreakable weapon with no setbacks over an unbreakable Iron weapon with no setbacks be the opposite of balancing unbreakable weapons?
Honestly, I think it was one of the best changes they could have made.
But while I did enjoy it, it's very clear it wasn't that balanced with the useless Silver weaoons, the broken as **** Killer weapons and the Legendary weapons boosting their users above other units of the same class so much it wasn't even funny.
Yeah, I could train Silas or I could use Xander with a 1-2 range sword that gives him defense just by existing. For Brithright, it's just >lol Ryoma lol
The Silver weapon drawback was easily one of the worst balances. I could understand that being for the special weapons in exchange for their high attack and whatnot, but the Silver weapons shouldn't have had that.
The Killer weapons......depends. In the harder difficulties where the enemies have higher defense, Killer weapons aren't as effective unless forged a good deal or on a character with high Attack. So I guess the balance comes from having enemies with higher defense?
And yeah, the Legendary weapons didn't help much. On one hand, Ryoma and Xander were the last characters you got and Leo and Takumi were earlier, but had less powerful weapons in turn. Otherwise, Xander and Ryoma could easily replace any of the characters like them unless they were really trained.
Silas has the benefit of being one of your first units, so he can be made good in time to keep up with Xander. Hana can also keep up with Ryoma as well. It's really Peri and Hinata that get replaced easily.
After having sat through Kingdom Hearts 2, there's not a lot of video game stories that could make me say "This is bad" by comparison.
I could understand Coded and DDD, but I don't see why Kingdom Hearts 2, especially when that one was alot more consistent compared to the ones that came out later and I would say less cringey and "What?" than Fates.
I mean, Kingdom Hearts 2 did have some stupid moments, but certainly alot less than Fates.
